New Set Lunch Menu
The set guarantees a fuss-free yet satisfying meal - choose your main from either the “Hearty” or “Healthy” category, complimented with a soup and a drink. From the Swiss Cold Cut Salad ($18) to Grilled Pork Sausage ($20), it's not difficult to find something suitable. The Goulash Soup we started off with is a thick stew with generous chunks of beef and potatoes, and it does a good job of satiating ravenous diners. For our main dish, we enjoyed a guilt-free Pan Seared Sea Bass ($22), which was served with yellow pepper sauce and grilled vegetables. The fish provided a firm but flaky texture that bespoke its quality. To end your meal with a touch of sweetness, top up $5 for a Bayrische Crème (above) or a Fruit Salad. The former is a dessert made with Vanilla Creme and smothered with a layer of strawberry sauce. Its consistency is smooth and custard-like, similar to that of panna cotta’s – but lighter and more addictive.Old Favourites
Additionally, loyal fans of Brotzeit will be pleased to know that perennial favourites (and what we perceive as German staples) like the Oven Roasted Pork Knuckle ($36) and Honey Bavarian Pork Ribs ($32.50) are still on the menu. However, the Dessert Medley ($28) stole the limelight – or rather, flash light – with its colourful combination of crepes, ice-cream, fresh fruits, apple strudel, and warm chocolate cake. With its complex binaries of warm and cold, sweet and tangy, and smooth and flaky, the platter was gratifying not only to the eyes, but also to the palate.
