1-Altitude

It was a Wednesday night when I went 1-altitude and each lady are entitled to complimentary drinks. The view from the club is simply heavenly. You can have a beautiful night view of Singapore. I have chosen the lime and vodka for my complimentary drink. The alcohol contents more than the lime, I drank it too quickly and could sense some giddiness.

If you desire to have a place that has a good view of Singapore then this place is definitely for you! The food is not that fantastic, especially when it is a fine-dining restaurant, perhaps because we went for some corporate event on a weekday instead.

There is a lot of privacy, the service is quite good and the people are rather friendly. Dining above normal ground level is definitely something you would want to experience! The desserts are the only food that i could appreciate, the rest are so-so.

We came here for a round of drinks after supper. We did not make reservations in advance but thankfully managed to get seats. Our first round was of jagger bombs which is pretty much everybody's favorite. Service wise, I think the staff do a pretty good job with regard to serving drinks promptly and cater to really good customer service. They have also got bouncers around to look out for trouble makers. Overall, it was a great experience and an amazing view from the top!

Setting - on the 63rd floor. Open air roof top. Surprisingly small, cramped place. Rather squashy and not much elbow room. Blaring music to make you deaf. Not much seats to sit either. Nice viewing deck turned into a drinking spot. Great 360 degree views. Easy to get up there.

Value - there's an $18 cover charge for 1 standard drink and $20 for 1 premium drink. Plus you get to ride up there and see the view. At Marina Bay Sands, it also costs about $20 just to get up to the 57th floor viewing deck area. Overpriced here since I am pregnant and cannot drink any alcoholic drink - that means a juice or water costs me $18? The roof top is about 1/100th the size of the Marina Bay Sands roof top - it should really be free or cost less to get up there! Not to mention the poor quality of clientele here. Not much value here.

Service - polite, professional, clinical. Not much warmth or joy. Everyone is quite serious and while polite, rather stiff. Very helpful staff. Nothing much to complain.

Drink - Nothing to rave or even talk about. Standard alcoholic drinks and water and juice. Must be cheap for Singaporeans because the only people getting s*#@-faced and very drunk are the locals. Rather deplorable conduct displayed by the locals who were falling everywhere and grabbing people randomly as they flopped and flailed and staggered around, all drunk and acting nonsensical, attempting to jiggy but looking really clownish. Really lowers the class of the joint. More suitable for just drinking and chatting rather than dancing! There's not much room to begin with!

Recommended for the view only. Not drinks or food or even ambience.

i went to 1-alititude to celebrate a close friend's 21st birthday. a group of us made reservations at this "high" restaurant as we know it was very popular among couples and family. we wanted to give the birthday girl a memorable experience letting her be on top of the world. she was indeed touched by our efforts.

the food there was really good, i ordered their swordfish roll. the swordfish itself was very fresh, the meat was very succulent. the entire roll itself was splendid. so was the price, the food did cost a bit, but everything was just worth it.

My husband surprised me with a nice dinner at 1 altitude without the children. The night view was splendid. The food there is delicious. I ordered the quail. I have never eaten quail before, but when I saw it on the menu, I thought I give it a try. It turned out really good, very flavourful. Cooked in this way, very tasty!

i went to 1 altitude for dinner with my girlfriend. The view is indeed splendid! It actually gives you a calming effect where you can above all your troubles. I love their fresh oysters. It is really very fresh, you can completely taste the sweetness of it. the service there is really good, the staffs are very proactive. We did not have to wait long for the food to come!

I love the ambience and the view there. it is the world's highest rooftop bar.

but foods are quite limited. they only serve several light snacks and drinks. Was there for couple of time but finally get to try out their snacks.

We ordered Spicy Platter which cost us sgd35, they are thai spicy chicken and prawn dip with crispy rice crackers, Deep fried wings & drumlets with sweet, sour & spicy dressing
and Homemade otah ( mackerel cake ) on toast. portion are big, enough for 4 pax.

They also serve pizza which is a hit and miss, nice crispy crust, but the one we ordered,
Portobello Mushroom, Smoked Chorizo, Manchego and Burnt Sag quite a turn off and cost us sgd22 for one.

SGD 50(Supper)

When my friend said that we HAVE to go to 1-Altitude to have drinks, I was thinking "what on earth is with that name? And so...we'll be at the top of some tall building. But there won't be enough of a view when we're indoors right?"

Boy was I wrong. The view was AMAZING. It probably has to do with the fact that the bar has amazing altitude, exactly what the name must have been referring to. Having been at Equinox numerous times and enjoyed that great view, this new perspective was could easily beat the other, as for once we were outdoors and could see as many things as we want by walking one round around the whole rooftop. And you sure could see far, far away, due to the height of the building.

We went at around 6.30, wanting to catch the sunset. The sunset was astounding, with the sun slowly going down behind the Marina Bay area that was still undeveloped, and a little behind the PSA cranes. We took many great photos in that time, as the height of the building allowed us unparalleled, unblocked views you can't really get in Singapore's concrete jungle. Then as night fell, we relaxed under the (sadly) starless sky, enjoying the cool breezes that passed by. Of course they could do outdoors - there's no need for air-conditioning or fans at such a height, where wind speeds were just nice.

The drinks were of a good variety, and each of us girls managed to order something different, that we all enjoyed. My whiskey dry had just enough kick, and was of a good flavour, not too watered down.

All in all, a great experience, and I'll definitely be back again. Especially since entrance is just SGD15 - its cheaper than MBS' Skygarden!
