Having bought 2 groupon vouchers for $9 each, which entitled Nyx and I to have an ice cream buffet for an hour at Ice Cream Art. The location was bad as it required me to travel all the way from my home (Ang Mo Kio) to Tiong Bahru MRT station, and then a bus to Sports Lifestyle Centre. When we entered, we were stunned as we did not expect such a small outlet. We started our 1h buffet spree and the lady boss (I supposed) was really friendly. I also requested the scopes of ice cream given to be slightly smaller than normal as we both wanted to try all the flavours. The flavours available that day were green tea, oreo cheese cake, horlick malt, dark chocolate, raspberry swirl, cookies and cream, raspberry cheese cake, mango, lychee, soursoap, green apple yogurt, strawberry yogurt, kiwi and durian! (Only last part than noticed the existence of durian ice cream.) continue reading

Being a huge fan of ice cream, I had to try out this ice cream buffet near my place. I had a groupon that gave me a discount, so I only paid $8.90 for the 1 hour ice cream buffet that cost $14.95.The environment wasn't as good and relaxing as before when it first open, as many of their "relaxing" seatings were removed. There was about 13 flavours available, and I tried them all. For most of the flavours, I wasn't pleased with the taste. Almost all of the ice cream flavours lacked the creamy texture and felt kind of "icy", like you would eat ice shavings. The yoghurt flavours are lacking the sour flavour of yoghurt. The good thing was the waffle was unlimited, and it can be ordered multiple times, but however, the waffle wasn't freshly prepared.Overall, for the buffet or even ala carte orders, I wouldn't recommend this shop for the price paid. For a high price like this, I was expecting more. For $18.90++, there is a much better tasting and wider selection of ice cream in the ice cream buffet waiting at Swensen's, and not to mention the deserts available there. continue reading

Unlike most of the ice cream cafes, Ice Cream Art Cafe is very spacious with ample nice seating and it is a pretty quiet space to really enjoy the ice cream. The only disadvantage is its location.Their ice creams are homemade from fresh ingredients and their ice creams are daily produce to ensure quality and freshness. Ice cream flavours are change once a month. Some of the winning flavours are:Mao Shan Wang DurianKnown as King of fruits, some love the distinctive odour as fragrant where others find it overpowering and offensive! This evokes reaction of deep appreciation for this succulent, cream-coloured dessert.Jamaican Rum & RaisinA familiar evergreen with raisins marinated in a rich premium Jamaican Rum.Mango DelightLips licking wish comes true with this tropical favourite delight.Hokkaido MelonAromatic and flavorful with full bodied melon taste. Refreshing and delightful when served as float.P'nut ButterSmooth and enticing especially with a homemade waffle. Peanut lingers on long even after the ice cream is gone.Almond SpeculoosA must try for almond lover! This unique medley of almond with speculoos (Belgian Spice cookies) is amazingly tasty.Choco MallowsRekindle your childlike character with this traditional mixed of chocolate and a collection of marshmallows.Butterscotch & PecansSandy brown with a mellow caramel hides a sweet secret underneath it's pecan sheath make familiar flavours sophisticated.I had the Butterscotch & Pecans & P'nut Butter for $5.90. I liked the P'nut Butter but not the Butterscotch & Pecans as I don't really like Pecans. Overall I felt the taste was still acceptable but not rich enough. Still, I only tried 2 flavours so I can't really judge much. But with their comfort resort like setting I will love to come back! They do provide Ice Cream Making Workshop and after the workshop you can enjoy free flow of ice cream, waffle and float!Check out this place! continue reading
