I walked past this quaint little restaurant in the laidback Changi Village and decided to try it after seeing quite a few people inside. Since I was already full from dinner, I decided to just grab a drink and went for the lemongrass drink. It was pretty good. I could taste the strong lemongrass (sourish taste) within the drink itself, and it wasn't overly sweet. Recommended. Will be back to try their desserts and other dishes. continue reading

I walked past this Nyonya restaurant after dinner and their menu for desserts attracted my attention - their recommended dishes were written on large chalk boards placed outside the restaurant. The serve different desserts, which include pulot hitam, bor bor cha cha, etc. but all hot desserts though, no chilled ones. I ordered the bor bor cha cha, which was a tiny bowl for $2.50. There were sweet potatoes, yam, and jellies. Average tasting. continue reading

Personally i still prefer cantonese style chinese food over Peranakan Food. However i suppose this peranakan food should be quite a good find and resonably priced. The pork meat - Babi Sio dish were quite tender and juicy. Well marinated and cooked. Just that the colour is brown. Basically all their dishes are about similar colour- which is brown...so the presentation is so so to me.The stir-fried sotong in squid ink was quite interesting to me. And it's all black and white! Squids were fresh. My favourite dish would be their Chap Chye (mixed vegetable). To me it's more similar to the cantonese version of " loh han zhai". Taste really good!Ayam Buah Kualuah- first time seeing and trying this dish! Recommended! continue reading
