I love Singaporean food, I love laksa. My friend bring me here and introduce me this Michelin guide laksa. The first question I ask is”where’s the chopsticks?” And the server said no, only spoon. Is okay as they shorten cut the noodles. The soup is super coconut with little spicy. The clams meat which is the freshness I’ve tried so far .Besides above, I don’t feel anything special for the Michelin title. These chili crab steamed buns and Utah are soso.

This bowl of laksa really does not impress me, irregardless of its outlook, portion and taste. The taste was really usual with no x-factor in it. Gravy infact was abit too thin and not really that flavourful. Portion was super small and unattractive. Even the prawns in it are cut to half and was really small and unfresh. The staffs are not friendly and quite rude as well. Environment was alright but not that clean. For $4 is very expensive.

This is named as the best laksa in SG but again, I guess I might have set my expectation too high for it.Different from what we can have in HK where you can choose to have different food for the laksa, this one only got different size (SML), with clams or without clams. So, you don't really need to read the menu. After ordering the food, another guy will come to you to take your order for drinks. They are from two separate stores and so, it's useless for you to talk to the laksa guy about drink or the drink guy for laksa. And once they bring you the foods/drinks, you'll have to pay to that guy immediately. So, for the laksa, the soup is tasty. It's just a little bit spicy which is good for me who can't stand spicy food. For other spicy friend, you can add some chili yourself. There're bit and piece of seafood inside the soup which form the base of the laksa but main point is the soup.To be honest, I don't really think it's worthy of traveling for a long way to eat (i've seen tourist coming here with their luggages). After all, I'd prefer the laksa served in those restaurants in HK which come with abundant of seafood on top of the noodle.

Hunting for food at 10pm in the tanjong katong / joo chiat area isn't that difficult and if you're lucky you can catch 328 katong laksa just before it closes... Not too sure whats the exact time it closes but we managed to get ourselves a bowl at around 2220! The laksa sizes come in S/M/L which are $4.50, $5.50 and $6.50. If you're hungry we recommend going for a M or a L because a small isnt that much, really. This is a $5.50 bowl of laksa, a bit on the pricey side given that its (literally!) streetside food. The noodles are cut, so it's perfect to eat with just a spoon. The gravy isn't too spicy nor is it too rich so you can really slurp it down. There is a generous serving of prawns, fishcake and cockles (COCKLES ARE A MUST. DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR). The laksa leaves alleviates the aroma of the laksa and every mouthful is addictive. I understand why some people would say that this laksa is overrated/doesn't live up to its hype. It doesn't have an extraordinary factor like the Sungei Road Trishaw Laksa @ Chinatown; but it's still...just..so..good.I think it has something to do with the grumpy servers, the general lack of cleanliness, roadside-stall feel, the bowl of laksa that is your classic idea of a hearty laksa that you've worked so hard at the gym for. The laksa that you tell yourself You deserve this, before digging in. If you haven't already tried 328 Katong laksa, you should. It's even better on a quiet night for supper with friends.

Remember Singapore's very own hawker heroes? Where our local hawkers and Gordon Ramsay had a face-off? Well, I decided to take a visit to 328 Katong Laksa (which was one of the contestants who won) to see if their Laksa had improved since I had last visited it 6 years ago. We ordered 2 bowls of their laksa and some otah to go along with it. I must say, the laksa has improved over the years! 6 years ago, I remembered my bowl of laksa to be extremely powdery but now the gravy is not only less powdery but it also tastes pretty awesome But because of their popularity from the hawker heroes challenge, the queue at 328 Katong Laksa do get considerably long sometimes. So if you don't mind dining outside with the heat then do go there to try their laksa!
