Good Italian Food At Affordable Prices
Smile 2013-05-11
Full Spizza review here: http://ivanteh-runningman.blogspot.sg/2013/05/spizza.html

A popular Italian restaurant, Spizza attracts the crowds with their thin crust, wood-fired pizzas, big and bold flavours, and affordable pricing. I'm impressed that Spizza is able to keep prices slightly lower than other Italian restaurants, despite using specially crafted wood-fired ovens, importing their ingredients from Italy, and hand-making some items in-house.

Spizza staff are professional and efficient, though the younger / newer staff have trouble with menu / product knowledge. In general, I find the service at Spizza to be good, and staff are able to handle special requests well.

The Beef Carpaccio with Rucola Salad and shaved Parmesan Cheese has nice, thinly sliced beef with a light marinade of lemon juice and olive oil. Slight twist on the vegetables, with rucola instead of the standard arugula. This traditional Italian dish is a good appetizer to start off the meal.

The Ursula Pizza consists of a pizza base topped with tomato, mascarpone, spinach, smoked salmon and capers. The smoked salmon and capers lend a burst of briny saltiness to each bite of the pizza. Nice, but a little overwhelming in a large quantity.

The Tiramisu here is a house made special, and is rich and decadent. Really good! Differs from the traditional Italian dessert with the use of sponge cake instead of biscuit fingers.

Foie Gras Pizza
Smile 2013-05-02

Foie Gras pizza for dinner recently! Personally i like foie gras a lot but haven't try foie gras pizza before. Taste wise, it's really not bad but don't expect lots of foie gras for the topping lah!

For $26 (if i remember the pricing correctly), i think it's pretty reasonable! We also order a salad and the dressing that comes with it goes rather well with the pizza. Hehe!

A place with god ravioli and pizza
Smile 2013-04-29
A place for good pizzas, pastas and salad. The crust is on the thin side so you don’t have to worry about getting too full on pizza crusts! I love the Parma ham and rocket leaves pizza as the rocket leaves slightly sharp taste goes well with the salty Parma ham.
Another must-try is the mushroom ravioli, I have the preference for the tomato-based sauce but you can choose the carbonara one as well.

Satisfying cheesy meal
Smile 2013-04-23
I went to the Jalan Kayu outlet for a weekend dinner. Parking was quite bad. For restaurant seating, I feel it wasn't enough because there were only several tables available in the entire restaurant. Though not crowded, the place was really hot and stuffy, couldn't feel any air-con and my friends and I (5 of us) were sweating like crazy. Food took quite long to arrive too. However, service was good, and waiter was really helpful in assisting our orders. The food was also quite decent.

Spizza here we go!

Rock Melon Parma Ham

This is one of my favourite appetizers and I think you can never go quite wrong with this combination. Rock Melon is sweet and juicy. Parma Ham is salty and strong. Eaten together, it never fails to give my appetite a good jump start.

They have all their pizzas named after girls, but I usually depend on the ingredients descriptions to decide which flavour I wanted.
This is Hawaiian.

The amount of ingredients on the pizza is commendable. The sauce and cheese helps to push the standard up a notch. When you bite into it, it is juicy and cheesy; you can pull the pizza away from you and see the elastic cheese strands stretching too.

Parma Ham with Rocket Leaves.

This pizza is surprisingly fresh and welcoming; a balanced meal on a pizza with lots of meat and vegetables.

Lagsana

This is baked to perfection with lots of cheese, ingredients, and juices oozing out from the sides as you cut into it.

Blue Cheese Gnocchi

I actually do enjoy mild-tasting blue cheese. While many shun away from this intense-smelling cheese, I'd say this dish is pretty much tweaked to suit the general taste. The blue cheese here is very much toned down so it's less intense. Cheese lovers or adventurous diners should give this a try.

Gnocchi is generally made from flour, potato and egg, patiently kneaded until the dough forms a ball. The texture is bouncy and chewy, somewhat in a delicate way. You've got to try it to get addicted!

Overall a really satisfying meal!

a delicious pizza
Smile 2011-10-03
i headed for a group outing at spizza. It was my first time there! being a pizza fan, I was thrilled to try out another pizza joint. They name all their pizza with girls name. I ordered their laura pizza as I did not feel like eating any meat. Laura pizza comprise of Mozzarella, Taleggio, Smoked Scamorza, Gorgonzola “4 Cheeses. I love their thin crust. The cheese practically melted on the pizza. So smooth so creamy so tasty. We also ordered a salad to share. My friends chose the Praetoria salad as they said they our pizza already did not have meat. This Praetoria salad comprise of Tuna Salad With Egg, Black Olives, French Beans, Lettuce, Onions. The tuna salad with egg was ultra refreshing. With the crisp lettuce and French beans. It was absolutely delicious.

unique names for pizza
Smile 2011-08-10
Normally when you think of pizza, what comes to your mind? Pizza hut, Canadian pizza… my girlfriend came to spizza with her friends and insist on bring me here. The pizza here is great. We ordered a “Sofia” to share. apparently they named their pizza with female names, very cute. The pizza was good, generous load of toppings. Fresh seafood ingredients and most importantly, not too dry. I hate pizzas with very little sauce, and this one was not the case. Great pizza!

Took away a medium sized pizza. I ordered Katerina which consist of tomato, mozzarella, beef carpaccio, rucola and shaved parmesan. Honestly, it wasn't as nice as it looked. The vegetables were really bitter. The beef were kind of cooked and hard. Crust was thin and crispy though. Pretty nice but not the beef! Try Ursula next time. It's topped with smoked salmon instead. Very delicious! Also, head there at during dinner hours when the chef is an Indian. He makes nicer pizzas! lol

The mushroom soup is really tasty and fragrant. Best! Their garlic bread is very hard and quite plain. I dipped it with my mushroom soup and it taste a lot better. Beef carpaccio was a horror! Their beef is pretty chewy, not very fresh and tasted more like ham instead. A big no to order it. I had Isabella for my pizza. Well, didn't like it at all. The ham were too hard and unable to chew and swallow properly. The crust weren't crispy, somewhat soggy and soft. Big disappointment.

The staffs were friendly & prompt in their services. What amazes me was that they even took extra effort to clean & wipe the chairs for the next customer, including the baby chair.

The pizza serving was relatively small in size though. My hubby & I were hesistating between ordering a medium or large pizza & we were glad we ordered the large one. The crust is thinner than the usual pizza as it is an italian pizza, so it is less filling than the usual ones from Pizza Hut etc. But I much prefer the thin crust served by spizza as doesn't taste as "doughy". However, the ingredients found on the pizza were quite limited though, so felt it was expensive.

Drinks whilst, a coca-cola costs $4.50 while a bottle of beer costs $8, so I rather go for the beer. Coffee is inexpensive.
