Oyster omelette
Just OK 2013-05-05

Do not underestimate this seemingly not delicious plate of oyster omelette. Poor presentation does not equate to bad food. This plate of oyster omelette is one of the best I have taken. The batter was excellent and well mixed with the eggs of which they were very generous about it. It was not too oily although I would have really preferred that the chives and vegetables were not inside the omelette.

The Food

Homemade Beancurd
When I saw Homemade Beancurd ($13.90) on the menu, confirm the beancurd is self made by the chef. What I like about this beancurd is because is smooth, fresh and silky. This is the egg kind of beancurd where most Tze Char used it for hot plate toufu. It is also stir-fried with mushroom, carrot and sugar snap pea which is a nice combination with the beancurd.

Spinach with Salted Egg and Century egg in Supreme Stock
I always like dishes with salted egg hence i choose this dish ($12.90). The spinach was soft and tender and stewed in rich supreme stock. When combined with salted and century egg, the taste is fantastic !!

Deep fried chicken with garlic
I ordered the half chicken at $12.90 which is quite cheap. The chicken meat was very crispy and the meat not so dry. Still can retain the juices inside. tongue

The Service
The service is good as we were ushered to an empty table promptly as soon as we step into the restaurant and the waitress take our orders with a cheerful and friendly smile

The Ambience
The place is fully air-conditioned with nice decors and surroundings.

The Price
The prices are quite low and affordable which range from $10 to $15 for veggie dishes, $10 to $20 for meat dishes !!

Overall
I will definitely come back again to try other dishes and highly recommended to try this!

Roasted Pork Knuckles
Smile 2012-07-25

This is one of my 'must buy' dish whenever I visit this chinese restaurant. The pork knuckles are very fresh and tender. Love those well roasted pork skin which are very crunchy and not too oily. The meat in it is also very juicy and easy to eat. Tenderness is definitely able to be found in all parts of their roasted knuckles. The slices provided are very generous. Love it as it is not priced too high as well.

PUTIEN
Cries 2012-06-10

Different places have different standards and quality of food i feel due to the fact that the chefs are different. I had a few of Putien dishes in Tampines outlet and they are up to standard but for Parkway parade branch, it is a little disappointing. I had their lor mee in white sauce with clams. The soup was somehow tasteless. Noodles were not really soft too. Another spinach dish we ordered tasted really bitter! It was untouched after a one mouthful. As for the service, it was only average. Staffs seemed to be hiding in a corner and chit chatting among themselves instead of paying attention to the diners.

Homecooked feel at a Chinese Restaurant
Smile 2012-05-30

Had the beehoon noodles here! Really liked the seafood inside the beehoon as it was very fresh and juicy, especially the prawns! The seaweed is really crispy and delicious as it is not like any other seaweed found in supermarkets. The peanuts are really nice too as it is fresh from the packet. They sell many other foods such as noodles in soup and it is really nice too. I would recommend you to eat here as the price is very reasonable and the portion of the food is just nice. smile

Lunch @ Pu Tian
Smile 2011-12-23

[IMG:1
We had their $38 nett set lunch for two people which included toufu, fish, soup, lor mee and dessert. We ordered to try their beehoon, duck with yam and their soursop fruit drink which was having a one for one promotion.

The soursop drink was fresh soursop juice, nicely squeezed and served in a cool glass! It tilts to a side. It was sweet and refreshing!

The other dishes took some time to come. However, the interval between each dish was short. Toufu was great. The sauce over it was tasty. I love the drunken prawn soup. The prawns served were all very fresh. Orangey and succulent! Their beehoon was really thin but was very well cooked. Skillful cooking skills! The yam dessert had too much coconut. The yam paste was partially submerged in the coconut! The paste was really well made though.

It was a reasonable price for the good food that we ate! smile

Though prices of the most dishes of this restaurant are slightly high, the food never fail to taste good.

I recommend one to try the sing chow bee hoon (as shown in pic) as I think this is one of best bee hoon which I have tried. Unlike the sing chow bee hoon which is served in most Chinese restaurant, this is not oily and consists of lots of nuts.

The bun with stir fried meat (as shown in pic), $3.90 each, is also something which I think is kinda popular. The bun is crispy and the stir fried meat tastes good.

Smile 2011-10-21

seems like some of my favourite dishes here have been taken off the menu. the tofu in a claypot!. anyhow i ordered 2 of their signature noodles , both were good , full of fresh seafood. i liked their duck wrapped in yam and never fail to order that everytime i dine here. prices are affordable for the quality of the food . i would give the fried anchovies appetiser a miss , it was bland and oily. other than that it was an enjoyable dining experience

After a very fruitful buffet, is good to end your meal with some delicious dessert. I will recommended this 2 cakes from Pu Tien~~ Macha red bean and chocolate.
I don't really like macha but this macha red bean cake really suit my taste. And the red bean mix well with macha. Their chocolate cake is rich in chocolate taste.
What i like is, they served in small portion and can be done in 1 mouthful. Kids will like it very much.

Putien @ Parkway
Smile 2011-06-30

Having my lunch at Parkway Parade Putien. I ordered the prawn soup and fried yam duck and etc. All the food taste fantastic and delicious. Especially the handmade noodles is so tasty as it was one of the signature dish called Law Mee. The environment is cosy and the service is good. Very spacious and they have their own chilli sauce which we can buy back home. Hopefully can try out other food on the menu the next time.

Heng Hwa cuisine
Smile 2011-03-14

I think the most famous and biggest Heng Hwa restaurant in Singapore will be Pu Tien Restaurant.

I was there for dinner recently and found out that their food were quite nice.

The Homemade Beancurd was smooth and the vegetables that came together with the Beancurd wasn't overcooked. It remained as crunchy as it was.

The Bamboo Herbal Soup was delicious too! Not only the soup but he fresh prawns were simply awesome too! What's more? It only costs SGD4.90 per bowl. Worth trying!

thumbs up
Smile 2010-12-25

I’m a noob when it comes to Chinese cuisine. Teochew, Cantonese, Sichuan, Hokkien etc, I simply lump them all under the category of “Chinese food”. Now there’s Hing Wa thrown into the mix, a cuisine I’ve frankly never heard of. Until Pu Tien comes into the picture, that is. I’ve heard many good stuff about this rapidly expanding chain of restaurants and finally had a chance to try it for myself with the loved ones for company~

I fell in love with this humble dish in Shanghai when I had it for the first time. Pu Tien’s version of spinach with salted egg and century egg ($12.90++) is superb, all thanks to the sweet and flavourful supreme stock!

The stir-fried yam ($10.90++) is what made me interested to visit Pu Tien. Coated with a sweet sticky glaze, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, these little cubes of carbs didn’t disappoint! So addictive that I pretty much finished this whole dish on my own, haha.

Another star dish of the night for us was the homemade beancurd ($8.90++) which had an incredibly smooth and silky texture. So simple, yet so good.

I went “I want that” when I saw the claypot sea cucumber with chestnuts ($35.90++) on the menu cuz I love both sea cucumber and chestnuts! Sadly, there’s only 2 or 3 chestnuts in the claypot (as though thrown in as an afterthought) but the sea cucumber was great. Firm, gelatinous and not too rubbery-tough-to-chew~

All of us enjoyed our meal here very much, yours truly surprisingly included. The dishes we had were better than decent and the food wasn’t heavy in sodium, which is important to me since I like to eat them “bare” without rice as accompaniment. First it was Restaurant Ten; now it’s Pu Tien… My appreciation of Chinese cuisine is slowly increasing, yay!

Great tasty lunch
Smile 2010-11-28

We had to host a Japanese colleague who came to Singapore for some meetings over lunch at this restaurant recently. As most of us had not visited this restaurant before, we asked the waitress to recommend us some dishes. The waitress recommended their Autumn speciality set for 4 pax to us, & suggested that we just need to order 1 more bowl of soup & maybe an additional side dish, which should be enough for all 5 of us already.

Autumn Set Menu for 4 ($139++)

3 “Autumn” Appetizer - this actually what we typically call as the "cold dish" 冷盘. There were the chestnuts, and picked dishes. Not bad, very refreshing.

Pumpkin Thick Soup with Crab Meat & Roe - we added 1 more bowl of soup ($12++) as there were 5 of us. The soup was really thick & concentrated, very nice!

Steamed Seabass with Chilli - This seabass was very fresh. I think we can say that it was steamed to perfection. smile

PUTIEN Sweet & Sour Pork with Lychees - The sweet & sour pork was very crispy. Add lychees to this dish was like a pleasant twist to the usual sweet & sour pork we have. Good one! chopstick

PUTIEN Mushroom Green Bean - We weren't very sure what this was at first, and thought it meant mushrooms and green beans together in 1 dish. But it seems like Mushroom Grean Bean is the name of the legume in this dish. Nice, tasted like french beans but it's small & round, somewhat like a mushroom. Maybe that's how it got its name. tongue

Fried Hing Hwa Bee Hoon - The beehoon was fried till it was very soft, and felt as if it could melt in your mouth as soon as you put them in hehe. Again we made a good choice to select this main course for our set. smile

Stir-fried Yam ($10.90++) - we ordered this additional side dish which was not included in the set, as it's one of the bestsellers of this restaurant. It was a great tasty dish with the yam stir-fried till very crispy, but yet soft on the inside. chopstick

The set also come with complimentary fruits which was a platter of different fruits like grapes, rock melon and guava. Refreshing ending to our satisfying meal. smile

Overall, we had a pleasant lunch as the food served were all delicious and not too oily or salty. The service in this restaurant is also excellent as all the service staff were polite and friendly. Just a note that the price doesn't come cheap for good service and quality food hehe.
