Did you know that the delicate rainbow trout is quite the superfood, being a good source of Omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamins B3, B6 and B12, with low sodium content?

If you’re a fan of trout or any kind of food that does wonders for your taste buds as well as your body, then head to Bonta Italian Restaurant & Bar for the delightful new seasonal additions to the menu.

From March to June, enjoy mouth-watering rainbow trout creations by Chef Luca Pezzera, who adds a unique Italian twist to his dishes. He also plays a huge part in the sourcing and selection process of fish, which are hauled up from the rivers near Taahunaatara Bridge in New Zealand, for direct shipment to Singapore for his selection. It is indeed freshness and quality that’s guaranteed at Bonta!

Cold Smoked Trout Fillet Salad

For starters, choose the Cold Smoked Trout Fillet Salad ($26). The refreshing ingredients of green asparagus, spring lettuce, and juicy diced tomatoes beautifully complement the natural, woody saltiness of the smoked fillet. Exquisite Alba black truffle dressing is drizzled over this light starter as a subtle, rustic finishing touch to the dish.

Rainbow Trout Carpaccio

Another great choice of appetiser is the Rainbow Trout Carpaccio ($38), topped with Russian Imperial oscietra caviar and homemade sour cream.

Moving on to the main course, select from three different lip-smacking creations: Homemade Rainbow Trout Ravioli ($48), Pan-Roasted Rainbow Trout ($42), and Baked Rainbow Trout Fillet ($48).

Served with Mediterranean scampi and basil oil, the ravioli in the Homemade Rainbow Trout Ravioli dish practically melts in your mouth, and is guaranteed to leave you craving for more long after you’ve finished the dish.

Homemade Rainbow Trout Ravioli and Pan-Roasted Rainbow Trout

The Pan-Roasted Rainbow Trout is wrapped in crispy eggplant, and served with light butter-chives sauce and salmon roe to add wild bursts of flavour to every bite.

The Baked Rainbow Trout Fillet is accompanied with the rich, earthy mix of morel mushrooms, Alba spring black truffles and sautéed garlic spinach, making it the ultimate treat for those watching their waistlines and those who want to treat themselves to a tantalising feast.

Homemade Mango Gelato

Finally, conclude your culinary experience at Bonta with the Homemade Mango Gelato ($12), a sweet and tangy treat coated with a thin layer of finely crushed pistachio nuts, and served with wild berry sauce. Now that’s what we call ending your meal with a bang–without worrying about packing on the pounds, of course!
