Food lovers in the West now have another reason to be happy about. With the opening of JCUBE mall in Jurong East, it brought popular restaurants such as Pique Nique to the other side of Singapore.

After much success of its Takashimaya outlet, it finally opened its second branch in the West. Located near the entrance of JCUBE, the restaurant seems to captivate guests with its chic loft-like space. For a more believable feel, the interior also has an artificial green lawn and a tree centre piece which evokes a breezy and outdoorsy vibe of a park.

As for the menu, you would be happy to know that they have a new menu which includes breakfast, appetisers, and signature burgers, sandwiches, and pastas. Chef Pang Kok Keong, who is the mastermind behind this concept, also adds in his specialty: desserts!

Their crab chowder is served with their home-made bread, baked fresh every day

For their all day breakfast menu, try out their Sausage and Egg Gratin ($14.80). This dish is made richer with generous toppings of eggs and their homemade tomato sauce. Once you dig deeper, you will uncover other ingredients such as sausages which make this breakfast item worth ordering. If you feel like this may be too much, cut off the monotony with their Kickin’ Crab Chowder ($9). Filled with crab tidbits, this chowder can is the perfect addition to anything…including pasta!

Pique Nique's updated menu boasts of new dishes such as the Mac n Cheese

Speaking of this Italian favourite, Pique Nique also has a wide array of pastas to choose from such as their Meatball and Pasta ($18.80) and the Roasted Chicken and Mushroom Mac n Cheese ($16). These are best enjoyed with fries on the side. Well, you’re in luck for the restaurant has a couple of versions available—wedge and shoe strings which come in different flavours. These also can be ordered with different dips such as the Goulash ($15), Hot Chilli Meat Sauce ($11), and Whoopie ($8.80).

You can't leave Pique Nique without trying out their desserts

For the perfect ending to a hearty meal at Pique Nique, you have to try their desserts like the Hot Iron Waffle with Salted Caramel ($11.80). Topped with their home-made ice cream, it is served fresh and hot. Choose the syrup you want to pair your waffle with: salted caramel or maple syrup! Then, there’s also the Sticky Date Pudding ($12) which is served with a luscious butterscotch sauce and ice cream.

If you’re looking for something lighter, opt for the Glass Desserts, which has the Lemon Chiffon Mousse, Mango Madness, Peach Yoghurt, $7.50 each). There's also the A new addition to the menu: The Passion Fruit Cake ! Even with this airy texture, you can still expect an explosion of flavours with every spoonful of this sweet and tangy treat.
