Mark your calendars, foodies. One of most coveted gourmet events, Singapore Restaurant Week, returns for its ninth edition next month from 25 Oct to 2 Nov. What to expect: More than 100 participating restaurants will be taking you on ‘An Experiential Journey Through Chocolate’. Yes, chocolate. Also, a first ever Kids Restaurant Weekend.

Tell me more about that chocolate bit: Notable restaurants will be whipping up set gourmet meals with at least one of its three-courses from the Restaurant Week menu featuring an inventive use of chocolate. So, you can look forward to exquisite creations like Chocolate Beef Cheek Ravioli or a 63 Degree Egg with Onion Soubise, Smoked Duck Breast and Chocolate and Garlic Soil. How Kids Restaurant Weekend* works: On 18 and 19 October, participating restaurants like Alkaff Mansion, Quayside Fish Bar and Capricci will be offering specially tailored three-course children’s menus priced at $15++ and $20++ per child for lunch and dinner respectively. As for accompanying adults, options include either the normal Restaurant Week Menu at the usual prices or an a la Carte meal.

Additions to the fleet: Joining Restaurant Week for the first time are talk-of-the-town establishments like D’Bell, Amarone, Indo-cafe, Portico, UNA, Takada, The Bank Bar & Bistro, La Maison Fatien, Wolf, Il Cielo and Becasse. When does booking start: American Express Card Members can enjoy priority bookings from 22 Sep; DiningCity.SG newsletter subscribers can enjoy advance bookings from 26 Sep; Booking for public opens 27 Sep. Seats are limited and it's a fastest fingers first game.
