Aston has been pretty establised since its arrival. I'm sure most people are familiar with their concept where you choose the mains and 2 addition sides to make up a meal.My all time favourite is always teriyaki chicken with potato salad and coleslaw. This time round, i tried the mash potato instead. The sides have always been consistent yet the main has been consistenly saltier as time passes by. I guess salt does enhance the taste but a little lesser may do some good. The waiting time was acceptable and service was good. I would recommend this place for a casual meal. For big eaters, i'm sure their portion will not disappoint you.

Came here for a weekday lunch, and we were pretty much the only table that ordered food from Astons and we waited for a good 15-20 minutes. Even though the guy at the cashier was polite and friendly, the wait for the food was terrible.I normally ordered crispy chicken but this time, it was overfried and it was so hard to cut. The crumbs were flying in every direction as I tried to cut the chicken cutlet. I had regretted getting this and felt that they have really slacked on quality standards.The Mac n cheese was good and so was the fries.

This is the 3rd time I’m blogging about Astons though I’ve been there like countless times before as it’s probably the only western food stall that I always come back for its grilled chicken, coleslaw and new potato salad. That’s right. I have the tendency to order the same each time I’m here but this time round I decided to have a change and ordered pork chops instead.Char-grilled pork chops with lovely grill lines and a thin layer of fat around the rims. I just love its smoky flavour without too much charring. The thickness of the meat is just right and it is surprisingly tender as you cut through it. The meat is moist and juicy and when coupled with the savoury and creamy mushroom sauce, it is just incredible. Of course, I’d never give my favourite sides a miss. Crunchy coleslaw with a dressing that is not overly cloying. Fork tender skin-on potatoes with appetising dijonaise. Awesome.The husband had a more guilty indulgence of fried chicken cutlet coated with panko breadcrumbs, crunchy potato wedges and a cheesy shell macaroni. While the chicken cutlet was really crispy on the outside, the chicken meat though succulent was quite under seasoned so you’d need to dip into mayo for more flavour. The potato wedges seemed like those out of a bag so wouldn’t go any wrong. The mac & cheese was drenched in cheese sauce that could be made thicker but it was still quite addictive. I find the concept of Aston super similiar to Botak Jones. But then again, it outshines Botak Jones by targetting not just the commoners with their affordable ranges, but also catering to those who can pay more for better choices! That's explain the different namings: Astons Espress, Astons Specialities & Astons Prime, in the order of increasing price ranges.I've visited both Astons Express and Astons Prime. The former indeed offers value-for-money while the latter offers more premium food such as Waygu beef etc. Obviously, you have to pay more for the premium food lah. Cream of Mushroom Crispy Fried Fish with Potato & House Salad Prime Ribeye Steak with Mashed Potato & Fries GST is already included in the pricing and there is not 10% service charge, so it's merely $21.90 for all these! I'm a happy gal, since I dun need to pay a lot for reasonably good food!Notice that I mentioned "reasonably" good food. Of coz, you cant compare the quality with upscale western resturants. And you have to "tahan" eating at a non-air conditioned kopitiam. But still, I think it's better than Botak Jones and probably compared to those mid-range resturants.I especially like their cream of mushroom, with the generous serving of mushrooms. The fried fish was crispy on the outside, and soft in the inside. I will definitely order this next time! Was in the AMK north/central area, and had a craving for western food. So Aston’s came to mind. I ordered my favourite Black Pepper Chicken with Mac&cheese and pasta. The service is fast and efficient. No messups on orders. This place is popular and there’s quite a bit of crowd dining here. The chicken is tender and the usual trademark of “chao tar ness” (charring) to utilize “bitter” as one of the 5 main flavours (sour,bitter,sweet,spicy,salty) and where you can opt for sauces such as black pepper (salty/spicy) or teriyaki (sweet) or you can add your own preference like ketchup etc. The mac’n’cheese was alright. I just ordered that as a healthier alternative to cut down on my craving for fries. Pasta was okay too, fragrant.
