Barcelos

Not knowing what to have for lunch, we decided to check out on Barcelos as what attracted us was the peri sauce which they provides for the customers. I've seen restaurants like nando's serving grill chicken with the sauce so i tot of trying.My set comes in 1/4 chicken platter with roasted potatoes and sauteed mushrooms, spicy hot wedges.
Well, the chicken seems too dry from the roasting which is probably the reason why they serve with sauces. Overall, the sides are okay. Other than chicken, they do have burgers options as well.
Chicken burger with pineapple and cheese, served with coleslaw.The signature here is there are 4 kinds of peri sauce to choose from. I opt for supa peri, the hottest of all! Lolz
It's spicy but unlike the taste of chili sauce, has a numb effect on the tongue but not like tobasco sauce which is uncomfortable to the throat. I would say peri sauce is a combi of both!

After my friend's recommendation, we decided to try out the Barcelos chicken outlet at NEX.

The service was very good, and staff were attentive and very warm. The manager even provided us with recommendations and this showed that she had very good product knowledge!

I liked how they have 4 different types of sauces that we could choose, with even bottle spicier than the other. The side dishes were served in larger portions as well, and i particularly liked the potato salad as well as the soup!

The chicken itself was pretty ordinary.

Overall, not a bad place to dine in for dinner.

My dad loves this place for its flame grilled chicken and beef. I have heard that they provide delivery services too. Honestly I'd choose Barcelos over Nandos based on personal preferences. I have also read that Barcelos chicken are marinated for at least 24 hours before flame grilling them. At its newest outlet, my parents and I will usually get the Twin Mixed Skewers w/ salad and roast potatoes as the side. The food isn't that oily, the meat used is lean and the salad is also tossed with not heavy calorie-packed salad dressing but their own home-made yoghurt dressing. The meals are reasonably priced too. A must-try for everyone.
