If you are a fan of bakeries, good news! This bakery chain serves excellent bread for working crowd in the CBD area, be it breakfast or high tea snack. One of my favourite bread is the raisin cream bun and undoubtedly that is their signature dish

As compared to other bakeries, the raisin cream is rich in texture and filling. Please note that this is one of the popular bread that gets sold out early.

The popularity of the store attributes to its freshness of the bread. This is due to the preparation of bread in the store. If you have time, you can wait for the fresh oven baked bread and I must say the taste will be awesome.

At Raffles Place doing some work and decide to have T break. Pass by this shop at raffles place basement before heading to take the train back to my office.
Bought their Rasin Cheese Bun at $1.30 and Chocolate Banana Bun at $1.50.
Reach office and time for tea break.
Make my cup of tea and the two buns I bought.
Before I took it out from the plastic I already can smell the sweet smell of the bun.
So my first bit is on the rasin cheese. Soft on the skin. Sweet taste of the bread. Wonderful.
Second is on the chocolate banana bun. Wor.....Very nice. Words can't say it , you must try it for yourself.

This is their ham and cheese bun which is soft on the outside and it is very tasty. I will continue to bite on it after the first mouth. Barcook Bakery had gained the business man and woman hearts because i would see everyday there are long queue outside Barcook Bakery to purcharse the same bread everyday though they have different variety! Their bread is thumbs up!

A friend bought this from this bakery and she got the char siew bun to try out. It was at $1.50 per piece and the top surface of the bun was different from the usual bun where normally
they were smooth but this one the surface was coarse with some bits of fine grains(I'm unsure of that).
Anyway, the taste didn't taste anything like a char siew bun but the filling tasted more like a nonya bachang, rather sweet.

Liu Sa - Soft bread with creamy filling, salted egg yolk mixed to a nice blended cream filling. Best when out of the oven where the hot creamy filling oozes out and the bun is really soft.Cheesy bun..very soft and nice cheese topping. Chocolate mousse with thick chocolate crunchy base.Choclate Banana bun, best when pipnig hot. A good chocolate & banana mix filling.Curry Lovers would like this bun as the curry is just right.

My daughter bought this cream cheese bun for me to try as she said this bakery has the best cream cheese bun so far.
The bun contains some raisins in it. The texture of the cheese filling is like cheese cake, the bun is very soft and a bit chewy.
I have tried other cream cheese bun from several bakeries and I have to agree with my daughter that this is the best that I have ever tasted.

This mushroom bun is very soft and fluffy. I liked their presentation of how they layout the shop, the frontage is wide therefore you can view all different buns that they are selling. And at the back are the chefs preparing the buns at the same time, therefore you can seee they make it freshly baked! The taste of this bun is not bad with the bit of salty taste to it to enhance the overall taste.

This is one the most delicious bread which I have tried. It is super yummy and I will strongly recommend one to try it. The melted nacho cheese simply oozes out when I sink my teeth into the bread! There are also small pieces of ham mixed together with the melted cheese. Personally, I find that this is a new invention of ham and cheese bread. Despite it being relatively more expensive ($1.50 each), one should try it.

SGD 2(Tea)

This satay bun is really fluffy from the inside and the outer surface has been baked into really nice golden brown with a thin layer of cheese slice topped on it. The bread is not too oily and the fragrant from the cheese has make the bread tastes really good! The satay chicken meat filling in it is quite tender and not too tough. The satay flavour in it is also not too spicy and suitable for those like me who cannot really take spicy food. The price is just alright but would be good if the satay chicken filling can be more generous in it.

SGD 1.50(Lunch)

This is called Chocolate Banana.
Personally I dont really like this because inside is filled with chocolate cream which i find it fattening. And the chocolate cream is mix together with banana is kind of weird taste plus the whole bread is warm. Therefore i think the overall taste isn't very nice though the fillings are alot. And i find it uncomfortable when i bite them together!....Unless you are a person who loves to eat cream perhaps you will like it.

I went to CBD to settle something in the afternoon and decided to pop by Barcook to get some breads. I got the cranberry and raisin bread since I have not tried it before and the amount of cranberry and raisins given as seen from the first slice looks quite generous to me, which prompted me to get it. The bread is as expected of Barcook's standards, soft and fluffy. I love the cranberry and raisin bread because each slice has ample amount of the fruit and this bread goes especially well with butter as the saltiness of the butter matches well with the spurts of sweetness of the bread when you chew on the fruits. It is a good buy!

This is my favourite bread in this shop, it is called : Milk Custard!
I like the custard that is cripsy on the top of the bread, it's like crumps and it also has a milk taste. And i will peel them using my hands and eat them bit by bit! (:
And the bread inside is hollow but it's soft!
Delicious when it's warm... wow.

Feeling hungry in the afternoon, I decided to buy some buns from Barcook Bakery. I bought the cream cheese raisin bun (hot favorite of Barcook). The bun costs $1.40. The bun is moist and warm, freshly baked from the oven. I like the taste of the cream cheese when it melts in the mouth.

In this cold rainy day, it feels really good to be holding a warm bread and delivering it into the mouth. I bought my all time favourite, a cheese bread and i must say that they did a good job. The bread is soft and the cheese is not too salty. What a savoury pastry!

SGD 1.40(Lunch)

Curry guy is Barcook's curry bread. At $1.50, it is more expensive than the curry breads sold outside, but I decide to give it a try. The curry bread filling is made of potatoes and it is very fragrant. The curry spice is just right in terms of spicyness and I thought the spice was more alike to chinese style of curry. The only thing not so good is that the bread gets squashed quite easily, since the filling inside is quite substantial and heavy while the bread is very soft, making it look so misshaped. However, misshaped as it is, taste wise it is great!
