I was craving for something savoury and the counter girl recommended the Lemper Udang to me. It is essentially glutinous rice roll with spicy shrimp filling, wrapped in a banana/pandan leaf as shown. As I have not tried it before, I decided to get it. Each piece costs $1.20. The shrimp filling is very savoury though I wished it could be spicier. I didn't manage to take a photo of the cross section of the lemper udang, but the ratio of filling to rice is quite little as well, so I ended up eating a lot of rice and not tasting much of the shrimp. Overall, I think I will probably not buy this again since it is too expensive. continue reading

My parents bought this cake to celebrate their wedding anniversary a few weeks back. The cake is a chocolate cake with a thin layer of hard chocolate covering the entire sponge cake. This layer made it a little hard to slice the cake into smaller pieces. The sponge cake is made up of layers of chocolate sponge and buttercream. Walnuts were used to garnish and decorate. The cake was good and did not taste too sweet. The walnuts gave it a little crunch. Overall a good choice 8/10 continue reading

Chocolate flavored supposedly but it was just the difference in coloring. They also have pandan flavors and whatever flavors you can presume. The swiss roll was fresh and the cream was buttery. Not too thick but just right. Perfect to go with a cup of tea and you'll be ready to roll.. continue reading
