Signature Dishes
Main dish was alright but the chicken was tough and rather bland, and I didn't particularly like the thick cut fries. Presentation wise was also rather poor, seems like they didn't bother to place the accompanying veggies in an appetizing manner. Waffle with ice cream was average, but waffle lacks the fluffiness like those at ice cream joints, and the chocolate ice cream was also normal.

The grilled chicken burger is one of my favourite option during my dinner hours after work. Usually I am always very hungry after my work and the chicken burger is definitely my best option as the portion is really big and looks very appetitizing. The grilled chicken meat is very tender and juicy and the burger bun is also very soft in texture too. Would be better if more sauce and dressing are added in the burger which I think currently is abit too dry.

my friends and i had some food at this placewe had roasted chicken thigh which comes with black pepper sauce.. lighter in colour than the usual sauce which other place servesit came with side dishes.. fries and boiled veges which are healthywe also had this cheese fondue~those cheese lovers~ you have to try this out for light snacks =)

Everytime i go to Hip Diner, i'd definitely order their Mixed Grill Set. Can't decide whether you want a bacon, a sausage, a dory fish or grilled chicken for the main course? Fret not! Mixed Grilled provides everything you desire. All in one plate!Sounds like some cheesy late night advertisement? Lol! But yeah, this is what you will get in a Mixed Grilled plate. And if the main courses are not enough, you can have mixed vegetables, a sunny-side up and mashed potatoes to go along. A very complete meal for you to eat to your heart's content!To top things off, the food has a quality to match its quantity and variety. I especially like the seemingly-ordinary-but-yummy-dory-fish and the crispy bacon. Shiok!The price is around $18.90, abit pricey however worth it.

I visited the restaurant for lunch on a Saturday and surprisingly, it wasn’t as crowded as what I thought it will be. The restaurant was only about 30 percent occupied. However, I waited for quite some time before I was being seated and was curious what took them so long. The service is very bad as it look a long time to get the service staff's attention to order and settle the bill. Worst of all, the service staffs weren't apologetic at all.I had a Chicken & Ribs Set ($23.90++) which I requested to be served with potato salad and fresh vegetables. The main highlight of this dish is their ribs. It was sweet, juicy and tender. It’s so nicely done that the succulent meat around the bones just came off so easily which much wrestling with it. As I blog about it now, I can’t wait to have more of it.The chicken was quite nice as it wasn’t very dry at the inside and the outside is lightly coated with black pepper sauce. It was tasty yet nicely done. Not a single bit overcooked at all.Overall, I would say that their food is slightly above average but they should look into their staffing problem which caused the unpleasant service which I experienced. Furthermore, it was on a Saturday afternoon which they should have expected a lot more customers.The long waiting time and poor service attitude from the manager resulted them to lose points for their restaurant. I hope that the management can look into this area to improve the level of customer service.
