After I have my main course and soup, I decided to try their ice cream, since most of my friends have been telling me that they have one of the best ice cream in town. Have order a scoop of their vanilla ice cream topped with slices of almonds. The Vanilla flavour was quite fragrant and the ice cream texture was quite smooth and not easily melt. The almond nuts are also very crunchy and fresh too.

Brotzeit - A MUST GO German Restaurant
Smile 2012-11-02
If you love pork knuckles and sausages, this is definitely a place that you cannot miss. You will be spoilt for choice with all the yummy selection in the menu, but it is not a place for those who wants to go for a diet. It is so delicious yet also sinful. You must not forget to couple your meal with the home brewed german beer to complete an awesome combination. It is definitely a place worthwhile to try out.

Celebrate with Pork Knuckle!

   Pork knuckle

It was after work and around 9 plus so around Raffles city we couldnt really find many place around still open for food so decided to drop by for beer. Didnt had the intention to eat pork knuckle at first but looks like a good deal with regards to the quantity compared to ordering 2 individual dishes. I asked for more sauerkraut and they did give more! Wonderful service. =)
I don't really like fatty meat so left the super 'good' and fatty parts to him and i was still able to eat quite a substantial amount of lean meat. The dish also comes with mash, fresh garden veg(small portion) and sauerkraut. Perfect for about 2 hungry person at the cost of $36++

Brotzeit
Smile 2012-08-01

The pork knuckle is pretty huge and very crispy and is served with potato salad, sauerkraut with brown sauce on the side. The pork knuckle is very well seasoned and in some ways it actually taste like Chinese roasted meat. The skin is very crispy and quite difficult to cut. The meat is tender and there are actually quite a lot of fats in it. It goes well with or without the brown sauce. I cannot really figure out what is the brown sauce.

Potato Wedges
Smile 2012-07-30
Anything got to do with potato will always interest me as I always love to eat potatoes. With no surprises, these potato wedges certainly has attract my attention from their food menu and decided to order it. The portion was quite alright and it was served really fresh and hot to our table. It is very crispy and not too oily nor salty. Eating it by itselfs is certainly delicious and appetitizing too.

Casual Lunch at Brotzeit
Smile 2012-06-20

Hopped over to Brozeit the German bar for lunch because they had this set lunch meal promotion, it was rather affordable.

I ordered the NEW dish* Haus Spiess (A skewer of variety of meat: Grilled pork sausages, pork tenderloin, chicken breast plus capscicum and fries) with Taggesuppe (Soup of the day). tongue
Cost: $19

Haus Spiess
It was delicious! The fresh juicy meaty chunks just sink into your taste buds as your teeth chew upon them. The sauce was of a unique taste, uniquely german-ish. lol

Taggesuppe (Soup of the day)
Totally don't look like what it was in the picture. I was quite surprised (more of SUPER SHOCKED) when the colours didn't turn out bright yellow as they had in the picture. The taste was awesome though, it is these kind of soups that are so fragrant you remember the smell of it forever.

My dad ordered Medly of Starters and the Seafood Salate.
Cost: $15

Medly of Starters
Tried a spoonful of it and the crunchiness kind of rings up to your ears. It was really fresh and you don't get that kind of weird smell that smells like grass when you chew on it.

Seafood Salate
I love how Brotzeit actually made a fair consideration of people who are more conscious with their health. My dad for one is really pleased with this portion because it is a perfect balance between seafood and his greens, something really refreshing and not too heavy for lunch.

The service staff are quite average, some of the staff are oblivious to their surroundings even as we waved our hands frantically in the air to signal them over. It's not a very packed restaurant anyway so I guess they should pay more attention or go for improved service training

Huge portion
Smile 2012-06-19
This German eatery is always packed with people who go for the food, as well as for the alcohol! During our visit, we tried their signature Schweinshanxn - pork knuckle ($36). The very crispy hind shank of grain fed pork is served with potato salad, sauerkraut with brown sauce on the side. The portion is very big! I love the crispiness outside, however, the meat is not tender enough for me.

We also ordered the Wednesday special, Pikanter Leberkase ($19.5). It is actually the Oven baked German spicy Meat loaf with mild green peppers, chilli. It is served with brezn and potato salad, quite filling too, taste good though.

Great German fare
Smile 2012-06-05
Had a nice Saturday dinner at Brotzeit smile .. The staff seated us quite promptly, and were very efficient. Tried the Currywurst ( Curry Pork Sausage) .. Nice, tangy sauce with a fair sprinkling of curry powder over the sausage.. Yummy! But good for 2 to share, otherwise might be a bit much. Also tried the mozzarella salad, which was unfortunately, no big deal. The mozarella balls were too powdery and bland. We did enjoy the mushroom soup - not too creamy, especially accompanied with the Classic Pretzel... Divine!! Definitely a great place to hang out, have good, hearty food and guzzle a beer or 2! tongue

Delightful Beer & Sausages
Smile 2012-01-14

It was a gathering for my friends at the long awaited Brozeit restaurant on a Friday evening. No I wasn't impressed by the waiting time of more than 50 mins. The staff could have at least put us on a waiting list and called us back should there be any vacancies available. We ordered a few pint of beers and there just your typical commercial beer so I shall not review about it.

What I can comment about however is their grilled pork sausage set ($17.00 ++). The mash potato tasted rich and creamy without ruining any balance in its texture. The pork sausages themselves are some of the best Ive tasted in this country. It was firm, sweet and not rubbery like other sausages served at other restaurants. I could not appreciate the sauerkraut though even though its supposed to whip up my appetite.

Overall the food was above average. The service however could be further improved. Long waiting times plus staff members who occasionally ignored us did not help to improve our overall dining experience. Quite a good place for group gathering/dining.

Food here was a typical pub price range but I guess. ordered the ultimate meat dish (cant rmb the actual name) but it has the best combi of meat ever. one giant pork knuckle fried to juicy crispy perfection, 4 thick german sausages, and finally 2 large slabs of fried meat the side. it was the ultimate treat for any carnivore. the meat were all grilled/fried to perfection. crispy and yet still juicy and moist. would come back here for more next time.

Pork Knuckle

   Winterbier 1pint

   Dunkles 300ml

Actually we wanted to try the Buffet Town but the perpetual long queue put us off. Then we thought we haven’t been Brotzeit for more than 2 years, why not gave it a try again. It was still early before lunch crowd, plenty of seats were available.

We have ordered pork knuckle, cheese sausage and 2 beers. I wasn’t a beer person so I have a small glass of Dunkles, I liked freshly tap beer though, it was refreshing to go with oily food. Whereas my friend has a pint of seasonal beer-Winterbier, I taste a mouthful, it was crisp at first note then followed by bitterness.

This is my first time to try German cheese sausage, frankly I didn’t like the texture, it was too soft to my liking, taste wise, it was all right, having said that potato salad made up the whole dish. Here came the pork knuckle, it was really mouth-watering dish, golden brown and crispy skin, a mouthful it gave the best crunchiness and smooth oil mixed. We liked sauerkraut so much, it was the best with the crispy knuckle, neutralised the oiliness. Whereas mashed potato mixed with sour cream, it was a bit overwhelm to me.

We couldn’t finish up all food and requested to pack up. They were happy to do so and packed into two boxes to separate meat and side dish.

Casual ambience, good food and service, definitely will return.

We had the schweinshaxe ($36). It comes in a big portion perfect for sharing. The pork knuckle was really crispy drenched in a savory brown sauce and it is served with potato salad, pickles and sauerkraut. We also ordered different kinds of sausages. Pretty delicious! Also, we had salad to balance out the sinful meal. Overall, it is really nice and worthy!
