I went to red ginger for dinner. I ordered their fish head curry and gado gado. The fish head curry was super shiok, the portion was pretty large for two people to share. The fish head was very fresh, you can taste the sweetness in the meat. The curry is very thick and flavourful. It is not too spicy as well but it goes absolutely well with rice. there were quite a lot of vegetables in the curry too, I was very satisfied. The gado gado was really good, simply adore the sweet chilli sauce, not too spicy but had a tinge of sourness.

crispy chicken with sweet and sour sauce
Smile 2012-09-02

I went to red ginger for dinner with my girlfriend. I ordered their crispy chicken with sweet and sour sauce. It was really good. the chicken was very crispy and the meat as very tender, not dried up. There were a lot of other ingredients like cucumber, onions and pineapple fried together with the sauce. It went really well with rice, the sauce is not too sweet, nor is it too sour. It cost a reasonable price of $5.90. I think I will go back and eat it again.

Great taste, but smaller portions!
Just OK 2012-04-25

This halal cafe at IMM has always been busy, from several years ago until now.
The variety of dishes leaves you spoilt for choice and the taste is very good.

Most recently, we tried the Penang Fried Kway Teow and Nasi Goreng.
The Fried Kway Teow contained chicken sausage, fish cake, bean sprouts, vegetable and egg. It was not spicy, as requested.
The Nasi Goreng was fried with vegetables, egg and anchovies. It came with a piece of fried chicken as well.

Although both dishes tasted very good, the portions were really small.
When compared with visits in the past, this time, there seemed to be quite a big difference.
Based on the small portion, the price did not seem to be very reasonable, though.

The service was fast and friendly. However I will think twice about what I order the next time.

Cafe Red Ginger
Just OK 2011-10-04

Cafe Red Ginger for lunch! It is not the typical halal café we see that just focus on serving mixed veg rice. They also sell several unique dishes! I particularly love their Penang fried kway teow 炒粿條)! They do not use the typical black sauce, but their house sauce which is very tasty! Great lunch smile

Nasi LeMAKAN !!!! Whatever Lah
Just OK 2011-08-03

Me and my colleagues wondered around IMM just to find a different place to dine. I noticed that there is something in the corner behind the desert / pastry stalls (in the ground floor). Its the Red Ginger Cafe. So we decided to give it a try since we didn't dine on this place before.

I ordered Nasi Lemak which is the only familiar dish to me that caught my attention.

   Nasi Lemak

It comes with chicken, green-colored rice, ikan bilis and a fish. The taste is good and it is above average. The service is ok since it is self service anyway lolz. The environment is nice, I like the red theme. Overall the place is good and the price is just ok as well.

Tasty Treats in the Heart of Jurong
Smile 2011-05-31

A local cafe tucked in a corner in the gigantic IMM building, one could easily miss this cafe that offers all kinds of local treats - food and desserts alike.
We eat at this Cafe whenever we go to IMM because of the taste of the dishes - absolutely yummy and mouth-watering and it will definitely bring you back for more!
We had the Bee Hoon Goreng with a ''Bull's-eye" egg and the taste was delicious.
The same for the Hot Plate Beancurd - sizzling hot and full of flavour, with beancurd, vegetables and meat. After that heavy meal, there was really no more room for anything else, BUT, who could resist the temptation of my favourite local kueh - Kueh Lopez?
Made from glutinous rice and rolled in coconut rice, this awesome kueh is absolutely heavenly when dipped in gula melaka ( special type of sugar). You must savour every bite of the kueh, or else it's not worth it! The service is fast and efficient and the environment is fairly ok.

Good halal restaurant to dine in with malay friends. Came here often to have the steak! Colleagues have been raving about the steak here that it is cheap and resonably good for the price. True, true. I’m satisfied with the steak as it was done perfectly covered with savoury black pepper sauce. Not too overly done. Esp crave for the fats which laced the meat. *drools* But the small hot plate could not fit more veg.. realised they always serve 3 tiny pieces of either brocolli/cauliflower. More please?

Great Laksa
Smile 2010-11-21

One of the best Laksa I have ever tasted in Singapore.
Not so spicy but it is tasty and rich.
The coconut milk used tasted different from those used in normal laksa.
The coconut milk does not create a blend taste and just simply makes me addictive bite after bite.

Steak Lovers?
Smile 2010-11-19

I love the black pepper steak here! It had a thin layer of chewy fats that added a depth of flavour to the otherwise flat piece of meaty beef slab. Sauce is perfect. Tangy and heavy. Side veg were cooked to perfection. Not too soft and still retained a slight crunch. I love crunchy vegs. Anyway, this is one of my fav place for lunch though there's always a queue of hungry ppl, the efficient staff always manage to clear the crowd fast. Only problem is there are limited seats so always go with a friend so he/she can RSVP the seats while you grab the grub.

   Love this!

Value for Money
Smile 2010-10-08

There are only this many places you can eat at Jurong East and I always find myself a regular at Red Ginger because service is quick, food is up to standards (or could even be considered good for the kind of price you pay), not overly crowded and tables are quickly cleaned during peak lunch hours.

At first, I wasn't expecting much from this self-service restaurant tucked at the corner of IMM, but was pleased when I ordered the Sizzling Beef Steak that comes with fries, broccoli and cauliflower for only $7.90, which is thicker and better than the ones I had at Phin’s Steakhouse in Tampines Mall (priced double by the way). Even the coffee shops at Jurong East Central are priced around the same with no air-con (unbearable in the scorching heat), long wait, dirty utensils and served in smaller and thinner portions.

Overall, it is a great place for quick-fix lunch without sacrificing too much quality. They also have quite a variety of other stuff served here, such as sweet and sour chicken, curry chicken, laksa, etc.

Drinks also include healthy choices like Ribena and Orange Juice (though a diluted).
