If you've watched Clicknetwork.tv's Tried and Tested, you would have heard of this brand Canele. Shu Ann (The host of the show) mentioned that this is one of her favourites, so I ought to go check it out what's so great about it. Macarons are expensive, you can't deny that. The cheapest that you most probably could get is from Delifrance (I don't quite like it). This isn't my first time getting macarons from Canele, I remember, I didn't really quite like the Rose flavour (pink one).So that day, i was at Raffles City, before my illumi run, and i passed by the shop Bought a pack of 6 @ $11.50, you can choose the flavours. I got every flavour except the rose one. Got 2 of the caramel ones. Oh my! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the caramel one! It's sweet, with a little bit of saltiness in it! The next flavour I like would be the chocolate one! If you love sweet stuffs, you should definitely try this!~ continue reading

Had tea at Canele one Sunday afternoon with mum. Even though she's not a fan of desserts and food that are too sweet, she enjoyed her cake and hot chocolate. Service at this outlet was pretty slow though. And the waiters seem to engage in conversations from time to time, so it took a while to get their attention. Ordered their snow-skin moon-cakes for the Moon-cake festival. The moon cakes were pretty yummy, and a box of 8 mini-mooncakes had 4 flavours (2 of each). You can tell that the moon-cakes were hand-made, because the bottom of the moon-cakes were of irregular shapes. continue reading

Actually I was not hungry at the moment. Yet due to craving for something to bite, we decided to take our tea-break at this café. I admit I like to eat, especially dessert and pastries. We snapped photo ourselves while waiting for the food. Of course I didn’t forget to capture its serviette with their Canele’s logo. The service was quick and precise, staffs were all friendly.Toast was cut into four pieces, they were well-baked with a little bit burnt. Cheese melt at the moment of eating, it was soft in texture and savory in taste. Filled along with Ham, the size was thoughtful. Macaroon was overly sweet, a bit greasy throughout the end yet it was still delightful. I believed High Tea can really cure stressful life, and Canele was the place. continue reading

Visited Canele and ordered their Classic Carbonara Spaghetti. It's one of the best Carbonara I ever tried. It's taste was rich and full flavoured in every bite but it was not too heavy and overpowered with cream. I find it simply awesome.I also ordered Smoked Salmon Wrap. It felt like a very healthy dish. If you are on a diet, this dish would be very good. There were a lot of vegetables in it, making the wrap crunchy. Besides the smoked salmon was done just right. there was not fishy smell and the fish tasted really good. I was also impressed with the service as they were able to served the food very quickly without compromising on the quality of the dishes. continue reading

Canele has always been my favourite place to grab those sweet little treats which we call macarons. Forget about the expensive Ladurée. If I can find the best at Canele at a more affordable price, I'm sticking with them instead. Nicely packed in a box of 8, I just couldn't resist grabbing 2 to eat before I took any photos. These were bought by my cousin and she got all my favourite flavours right! The rose was the best among so many others I tried. Chocolate and Salted Caramel works wonders too. What I really like about Canale's rendition of the French treats is they dont taste artificially and certainly not just overtly sugary sweet. If there's a canele shop right under my block, you can almost be sure I will always grab a few on days when I just feel like having something sweet at home. continue reading
