http://phuachiuyen.wordpress.com/2013/04/14/bak-chor-mee-bendemeer-market-food-centre/Hi there! Today I went to Bendemeer Market & Food Centre. I chanced upon a bak chor mee stall and the queue’s like WOW always so long. So typical me just queued. It was a pretty fast queue. I got a little amused when it reached my turn because the boss told me the fishball+bak chor mee (no. 1) was sold out. OMG I thought no food for me. Then he kindly introduced bak chor mee (no. 3) to my brother & I. We went “Oh okay (since it’s our first visit and we were blur sotongs…)…” and then he said ours were the last two bowls left. Lucky us! I even hear passerbys commenting “This stall forever long queue.”.OMG and then he just switched off all the lights of the stall.Time Check: It’s only like 12noon++ and they are closing! Okay, that’s kind of FAST.They do kindly tell the rest queuing that everything’s sold out. Okay, I was totally speechless. GOT SO POPULAR OR LIMITED MEH?!The only best part I like about this bak chor mee was the light brown extremely crispy dumpling alike thingy. Everything else was pretty normal like any other bak chor mee. It’s very cheap by the way – only $2.50 for a decently big bowl mee with lots of bak chor, a few chewable pig livers and some lean meat. Oh yes, there’s one to two miserably small mushrooms too.The accompanying seaweed soup’s kinda salty to me though. The mee was not very hot, so I was a little disappointed.Overall, I felt it’s just so-so and not a must-try.Customer service wise – the bosses were very friendly and would repeat our orders to us before they cook. Customer service ftw! Maybe that explains the popularity and scarcity of their food……..TRY IT IF YOU’RE IN THE VICINITY! continue reading

Dont be mistaken by the name of the hawker, it is actually located at bendemeer market food centre (near boon keng mrt) and not at changi village. usually I am here on sunday morning and be prepared to queue for around 10mintues as this is a popular store!Indeed, the nasi lemak is good which explain the long queue. I love the rice, it is very fragnant and the coconut milk taste is just nice, not too thick nor plain. My favorite will be the chicken wing! very taste and well marinated. I will definitely be back for this nasi lemak despite of the long queue. and it is also very cheap. only $3 for this meal continue reading
