For just $2, you can order a plate of roast chicken rice from the south canteen. Help yourself to the cabbage soup on the left. You can also ask for a chicken thigh which makes it $2.50. The uncle is very friendly and the rice is very fragrant. Quite a decent plate of chicken rice, better than the Ah Tai chicken rice I had at Maxwell last week!! At only $2, this is a steal. The skin is tasty and the meat is juicy and succulent. The meat isn't dry. The soup isn't too salty or ladden with MSG. I didn't feel thirsty after this simple meal. I would definitely give this another go in the future. They also sell chicken porridge at just $1.20 a bowl!

As I mention before chicken rice is my all-time-favorite!!!Every time if I have no appetite to eat or don’t know what to eat, I will choose to go for chicken rice. Last few days ago, my classmates and I went to south canteen to have our lunch. I really don’t know what to eat on that day, thus I choose to go for chicken rice at south canteen.The chicken rice at South canteen on that day tasted nice. The rice is well-cooked and smells fragrance. The chicken is moist and tender. I prefer the soup they served. I like the cabbages in the soup.Will definitely order this food again next time.

Singapore is so famous of its chicken rice that almost everywhere that sells food, you can find chicken rice stall! haha, my school too, south, north and koufu selling chicken rice! Anyway, whenever I have no appetite for food or could not think of anything to eat, I will definitely go for chicken rice! For the south canteen, I like the soup alot! They put in a lot of cabbage inside that makes the soup tastes really fresh and sweet. The roasted chicken is nice when add in a little black sauce on top!

the rice is a bit hard. It is abit too dry.Unfortunately,the soup supplied is finished already.So i dint get it.That's why i eat this chicken rice very slowly.Because i don want it to be cant digest well.The chicken is tender and soft,and is not too oily.I like to add the thick and black soy sauce too.Of course,the chilli also make the chicken taste nice and it's spiciness is really nice.

Ordered this roasted chicken rice when having our lunch break at south canteen. In fact, they are selling the chicken rice at a very very low price, yet the portion served is actually quite big. I prefer eating this chicken rice with the soup provided at the corner of the stall because the rice is kinda dry to me. The roasted chickens are very tasty but i actually prefer white steam chickens.
