This is one of my favourite glutinuous rice kueh from this Nonya kueh stall. The glutinuous rice, also known as the sticky rice, is chewy which is really fragrant too. The brown sugar coconut topped on it are very sweet and moist in texture which goes very well with the glutinous rice. Great to have it with a cup of chinese tea and the price is consider quite reasonable too. continue reading

It's hard to find kuehs these days! Luckily there's a stall here at Tangs. Not fantastically great but the colours are very bright! Not as expensive as Bengawan Solo. Alright tasting. Sometimes certain kuehs seem to taste sourish, which is a turn off. Doesn't seem to be very fresh. Not a whole lot of variety of kuehs but just a few of the more common ones. Recommended on a whim and if you have a craving for kuehs! Just have to cross your fingers that you get the non-sourish ones of the day! continue reading

The sweet potato onde onde looks plump and the coating of the coconut looks fresh and makes me want to eat it so I paid $2 for a box of 6 pieces. Hmm....quite disappointed with the gula melaka as wonder why is not the sweet kind and instead is slighty salty sourish. At first I thought the coconut was off but when eaten again just realized is the filling. Couldn't push myself finishing it and have to stop at the third piece. I tried their other kuehs before which was good but except this. continue reading
