mini paus
Smile 2012-04-29
I am a regular customer and just yesterday, I got four of these paus home for my family. The paus are quite mini and I got two char siaw paus and two tau sia paus. The char siew pau is very flavourful with the seasoning of the meat and the right balance of both fatty and lean meat. The tau sia pau is also very nice as the tau sia is blended into a very smooth paste. The only thing that I did not quite like is that the tau sia filling is more sweet than I have remembered it to be. Otherwise, I would rate a higher score for their paus.

cha siew pau
Smile 2011-12-19
As mini as this cha siew pau is, it is quite delicious. The char siew meat is seasoned very well with the meat absorbing most of the flavours such that the meat is not too tough and is still slightly juicy. However, I wished the pau skin is thinner though. For such a small pau, the skin should be thinner than those big kong guan cha siew paus. Besides that, I like that they do not use too much of the fatty meat to make this char siew pau. The ratio of fatty meat to lean meat is just right.

There are also other types of paus available like tau sa, lotus paste etc if you don't like meaty paus.

Pau for Breakfast!
Smile 2011-03-11
I used to hate all those pau out there, cause there is too much of the flour dough, and the meat taste much too oily. It was only after tasted homemade pau that i realised, the character of those i had describe belongs to buns made in factory. I guess mass production always result in loss of standard then.

Their da bao (big bun) came in two different kind, the chicken and the pork, so it depends on which one you prefers. Personally, i think their chicken pau tastes much nicer. Its tender and juicy, and i do not mean those oily kind. The amount of dough covering the meat is just nice, and i wont get the feel like i am sinking my teeth into a mantou (plain bun).

However, the best that they have is the pork belly bun. Most of the time, i would just remove the fat layer when i am eating pork cause i think it taste disgusting. But, this bun is different. The meat is so fragrant that i would not bear to waste any of it, including the fatty layer. And it is going at only $1 per piece, definitely worth the price if you are not one of those who are watching their weight. And i do not think many knew about how great this taste, cause i rarely see anyone getting this. Do give it a try!
