Signature Dishes
After movie, I was going for my supper. Upon the time we reaching there, the café was almost closing. Anyhow, the staffs still welcomed us yet left only pastries and beverages to be ordered.Having 3rd Anniversary Promotion, Coffee Stars gave 20% discounts for those who “LIKE” on their Facebook. Without hesitation, I immediately went the page and clicked. The offer ended 30th November 2013, and it only valid for dine-in. I ordered according what my inner soul was screaming, Bitterly Cappuccino. Presentation looked humble, essentially flooded by milky cream on top of cup. Sachets of sugar and creamer were available on the table, I scratched one packet of sugar to add into my drinks. $5.50 each initially, it was approximately $5.00 after 20% off. Quite a wide range for selection of cakes, I finally choose Chocolate Cake. Full of darky Choco-fragrance, it was a perfect smoothie. It was sweet and spongy. Something casual on the lower budget range, it attracted their customers with affordable pricing.

I was at orchard catching a movie with friend and we had late lunch here after the show. There was a short queue at 3pm, we waited for about 10mins to get seated. We ordered some dishes and desserts to share..My Calamansi w/ sour plum drink $8++This was quite nice, sweet and sourish and slightly salty at the same time...very refreshing.Seafood Tom Yum soup $11++The serving portion was enough for 2pax. Has generous serving of seafood and mushrooms. Soup is tangy enough and slightly spicy...nice!Rice crackers w/ chicken & shrimp dip $11++This is very delish, the crackers were very crispy and pairs well with the fragrant and spicy dip.Salmon Teriyaki fried rice $22++The salmon was cooked just right retaining its juicy and tender texture. The teriyaki sauce was good, so was the fried rice. However, the enoki mushrooms were too salty.Coconut pandan roll $7++This was very delicious, the super fragrant pandan roll was soft and fluffy and the chopped coconut filling was very refreshing...thumbs up.Green tea crepe cake $9++This was a multi-layered crepe and green tea cream cake topped with chocolate sauce. It was nice and fragrant but a tad too sweet for my liking.

Currently Isetan Supermarket is having a thai promotion and Coffee Stars by Dao has a booth there. I got myself 2 cakes for $7.00. Coffee Stars by Dao is a Thai fusion restaurant from Thailand.Taro CakeThe cake is full of mashed taro cream, only the bottom is the sponge cake. It tastes very delicious, like taro ice-cream and not too sweet.Coconut CakeSimilar to the taro cake, only the bottom is sponge cake. Simply decorated with a cherry in the centre, with a spread of dessicated coconut. Very tasty too.

I went out with my bunch of friends to celebrate a friend's birthday today.Another friend of mine, suggested to eat at Coffee Stars because she said the cakes there are all very special, pretty and yummy. After eating the birthday cake, I ordered a Salmon Teriyaki set meal, for approximately $16.90.Although $16.90 is a little too expensive, the price definitely worth the portion served. The set meal consists of a mouse cake, salad, soup, rice and salmon. After taking a huge slice of cake, I could not finish this set of food, which was a great waste. The texture of the cake was very smooth and sweet. Its appearance was very beautiful as well. The rice was of good quality and fragrant, it tasted really nice when it was eating with the grilled salmon sauce. The salmon fish was also very yummy and fresh. Love the peppery herb smell too.Salad was so-so. It was quite refreshing after eating it though. Not much of mayonnaise added. A healthy dish indeed. The soup was thick and creamy, the herb smell was fragrant and lovely. Nicely decorated with cream too!Overall, it was a very fulfilling meal.I will come back to try other food next time Wonderful service and lovely environment. The restaurant was very well renovated and furnished!!

For pictures and reviews, pls visit:http://madamechewy.wordpress.com/2012/07/19/coffee-stars-by-dao/I wanted to try Mille Crepe cake and I found that Coffee Stars by Dao serves it. Coffee Stars by Dao at Wisma Atria, is a popular coffee chain from Thailand. The menu boasts a wide variety of Thai and Western Dishes. There was nothing fantastic about the food, but the Mille Crepe Cake was a total let down. The Thai waitress who served us was attentive but she did not have a good grasp of English, making it difficult for us to convey requests. For example I wanted to reserve the Mille Crepe cake in case it ran out when I finished my dinner, she misunderstood and served the cake before the mains arrived. >_<Vanilla Mille crepe cake with raspberry sauce. From the pictures I view from the internet, Mille Crepe cake usually have about 25 or more layers. But Coffee Stars by Dao only has 7 layers…and too much cream.
