Unfriendly Starters
2012-05-21Went out for a beer with BF at Chijmes abt 10pm on a Saturday and felt a bit peckish so decided to sit at the fountain terrace and order a couple of starters to share. ( Soccer screen outside vs band inside.. 
). We had the Cream of Forest Mushroom soup- small portion but yummy, Caesar Salad and Toasted Vegetarian Quesadillas. The salad was well tossed with just the right amount of dressing although croutons were soft, but the quesadillas unfortunately were rather tasteless and bland. It would have gone well with our beers if it was tastier. However, service was rather lacking in friendliness and efficiency ... even though the tables were only about 1/2 filled. We had to catch the attention of the Manager/Boss to get our bill although we tried to signal for our bill to a waitress who was serving a neighbouring table several times. When the bill came, she came over and stared out into space. She ignored BF when he stated he could not make out the bill as it was dimly lit, and he had to fish out his own phone to see to sign the visa bill !! What 1derful service!!
