When the waitress was carrying the plate of Salted Egg Pork Rib rice to our table, the ambrosial scent of the salted egg infused with the fried pork rib permeated the air and made us salivated while we eyed the dish that was on the way to our table. The aromatic smell of the Salted Egg Pork RIb rice was simply beyond heavenly. Although at the first glance, you would simply dismiss this dish as it looks so ordinary, but I am sure your perception will change when you scoop the salted egg sauce mixed with the pork rib and bite into it. As you sink your teeth into the meat, you will be amazed at how well the meat was being cooked and it still remained crispy although the salted egg sauce was being generously spread over the pork rib. If you noticed hard enough, you would have realized that the salted egg pork rib was also cooked with basil leave and chili paddy. Perhaps all this contributed to its aromatic scent and delicious taste when you eat it. I simply love this dish and would strongly recommend anyone to try it if you happen to drop by Far East Plaza. For a serving portion of 1 person and priced at a reasonable price of $6.50, especially when you are in Orchard and prices of the food are crazy, this dish would definitely be light on your wallet and full and satisfying for your stomach. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 as mediocre and 10 as very yummy, I would give the Salted Egg Pork Rib rice a rating of 10, which means I find it very yummy and I would definitely return to eat it again.

We also ordered a small serving of Chye Poh egg omelette to share among the 3 of us. Although we ordered the small serving, but the actual size of the dish don't really look small to me. Here's a photo of the Chye Poh egg omelette:

I think the egg portion is huge. Moreover, the amount of chye poh given was generous and well spread out among the egg. The crunchiness of the chye poh mixed with the egg tasted awesome and at a decent price of $8 for the small serving, I would recommend you to try out this dish too if you happen to eat at New Station Snack Bar.

As for the ambiance, the outlet has little decoration and the whole dining experience is akin to dining at a coffee shop zi char stall, except that there's air conditioning at New Station Snack Bar. As the outlet is rather small and only have approximately 10 small tables that can only accommodate 2 person per table, I think this is one of the reason why you would have to wait in the queue for at least 20 to 30 minutes if you go during peak hours for lunch and dinner. If you are not in the rush for time, this place is definitely one place that's well worth the wait, as both the Salted Egg Pork Rib rice and the Chye Poh egg omelette are delicious.

They stop accepting customers at around 9pm as there were two times I went at 9pm and the auntie told me that they do not have enough ingredients left in their kitchen. So if you are planning to have your dinner at there, I would advise you to go early.

Overall, I would give a rating of 8 out of 10 for my dining experience. It will be much better if they can have more tables to accommodate more diners so as to reduce the waiting time during peak hours. I would definitely return to try out more of their other dishes. It's also a pity they did not play any music or songs in their outlet. I think this will definitely add to the overall ambiance if they do so.
