Pau for Breakfast!
2011-03-11I used to hate all those pau out there, cause there is too much of the flour dough, and the meat taste much too oily. It was only after tasted homemade pau that i realised, the character of those i had describe belongs to buns made in factory. I guess mass production always result in loss of standard then.
Their da bao (big bun) came in two different kind, the chicken and the pork, so it depends on which one you prefers. Personally, i think their chicken pau tastes much nicer. Its tender and juicy, and i do not mean those oily kind. The amount of dough covering the meat is just nice, and i wont get the feel like i am sinking my teeth into a mantou (plain bun).
However, the best that they have is the pork belly bun. Most of the time, i would just remove the fat layer when i am eating pork cause i think it taste disgusting. But, this bun is different. The meat is so fragrant that i would not bear to waste any of it, including the fatty layer. And it is going at only $1 per piece, definitely worth the price if you are not one of those who are watching their weight. And i do not think many knew about how great this taste, cause i rarely see anyone getting this. Do give it a try!
