Finally, I managed to buy a few pieces of Cempedak from Mr TehTarik Coffeeshop since I was early. These Cempedak are so saleable and are sold out very fast. Each Cempedak pulp dipped in battered and deep fried in hot oil.It has to be taken immediately after frying for its fragrance and crispiness. The Cempedak taste is sweet and closer to a Jackfruit family with a gummy taste, but not quite as strong as the smell of the durian. The Cempedak taste is sweet and closer to a Jackfruit family with a gummy taste, but not quite as strong as the smell of the durian. I prefer the taste of Cempedak than Jackfruit.
The Wadai I bought from the same stall has nothing except flour and some small pieces of vegetables.
I believed this is the vegan version of Wdai. Normally Wadai are prepared with a few pieces of small prawns scattered in each dough.
I like the salty taste of the Wadai.
If there were a few pieces of small prawns added it would be even be more flavorful. The green chillies that goes with the Wadai is just Ommph.
Both Cempedak and Wadai are priced at 50 cents each.
