Today I meet up with friends at this Russian restaurant. The restaurant is located in YESS Centre which is across the street from Haw Par Villa. The restaurant is owned by a couple called Chef Rinat and Deborah who are always there to personally take care of their guests. The restaurant is quite small, and sits about 30 people. The restaurant serves authentic one of a kind Russian cuisine. There is also a number of cute little decoration items from Russia. The menu has reasonable range of food whic
Served in a beautiful pot, it has a nice and lemony taste. Country style potato ($7+)
baby potato with dill
The potato is soft and well flavoured. Pork Julienne ($16.90+)
Pork & potato cubes in savoury cream cheese sauce, seasonal vegetables
The pork is quite tender and flavourful. Lamb Shashlik ($18.90+)
Grilled Lamb marinated in chef's special spices
The meat is a bit tough and serving looks a bit small too. Plov ($14.90+)
Lamb Rice
The rice tastes like the steam char siew rice type from the steamed pau stall. Long grain type but flavourful. Serving looks much smaller than what is shown on menu. Creamy Double Fish ($16.90+)
Salmon & dory fish with potato slices and cream cheese sauce baked to perfection
Interestingly this dish takes the longest to be served, but serving is the biggest among the 4 main courses. It is served in a thin baking tray. The fish soaks up the creamy sauce flavour very well.
When asked for the bill, I am surprised to receive it in a basket. It is an interesting experience to dine in here. Quite a cozy place with great service from the staffs.
