I first discover Ayam Penyet Ria when I saw it at Lucky Plaza years ago. I love the Ayam Penyet there, although it’s not as authentic as the ones I tasted in Indonesia. When I chance upon Ayam Penyet Ria at Jurong Point, iw as pretty excited cos its nearer to home. Decided to try a different dish this time and so I tried the Pece Lele Penyet. It’s basically smashed catfish. Seriously, it does not look appetizing at all. It was really huge though. Even my friends were scared of how it looked.Gran

Granted, the catfish was not exactly nice-looking afterall, it doesn’t help if it’s smashed!

However, it tasted reaaaaally good!
The meat is somehow moist but does not have those fishy smell.
It was fried just right and it was accompanied with Tahu & tempe and the delicious Sambal Belacan.

I think I prefer the Pece Lele than the Ayam Penyet.

Try it when you are there next time!
