XO Carrot cake XO 酱炒萝卜糕 ($10.80++)Not very spicy, but I would prefer it to be more crispy.Double Boiled Pork Softbone with Watercess 西洋菜西施骨汤 (S$7.80++)The pork was very tender and the soup was flavourful.Seasonal Vegetable with Assorted Egg in Superior Broth 金银蛋浸时蔬 ($15.80++)Spinach with salted egg, century egg, and egg. Although century egg was strong in flavour, it did not overwhelmed the dish.Crispy Beancurd Cube with Salt and Pepper 黄金豆腐粒 ($7.80++)Simple dish but flavourful on its own.Washed down with Ginger Tea with Pomelo Honey 姜茶柚子蜜 ($3.10++), which I would prefer the ginger taste to be stronger.

Platter of roasted meat (approx $22+)This platter of meat was not bad. if you are craving for many types of roast meat, get this dish! the roasted meat skin was very crispy and they were not oily. The meat was tender too. Broccoli with mushrooms (approx $15)The broccolis were cooked nicely, not undercooked nor overcooked. The gravy was nice too as it complemented the mushrooms and broccoli well. the mushrooms were juicy as well and was a great combination with the vegetables. It was a simple yet fulfilling dinner.

I went to the new Crystal jade outlet at Clementi mall. I ordered a shrimp dumpling (Siew mai), Shrimp dumpling noodles and fish porridge. When you are craving for Hong Kong Chinese food and Dim Sum, going to Crystal Jade will never go wrong. The Shrimp dumpling was alright and it was served warm. The Shrimp dumpling noodle was as usual as I always order this when I frequent Crystal Jade. My friend had fish porridge which I thought it was nice as well. The porridge at Crystal Jade is cook to congee style. I really like this kind of style of porridge cooked till it is soft and creamy.

Since I'm Cantonese, dim sum is practically a staple and must-have food for me. Went down to the Crystal Jade Kitchen at Clementi Mall for brunch with the boyfriend since we both had an off day from school. I've a few favourites that I highly recommend!-Har GaoThe prawns inside are always juicy, fresh and so yummy it melts in my mouth! I order this every single time I go.-Carrot CakeI love the carrot cake, it's slightly crispy at the edges and so full of flavour. Lately, I find they make it saltier though. If it gets any saltier, it may cease to be a favourite.-Liu Sha BaoThe salted egg inside is so delicious, I slurp every inch of it up!LikesHar Gao & Liu Sha BaoDislikesThey charge for water. So, I usually order a pot of tea.Service could be better, it takes quite awhile to get a waiter's attention.Spending: Approximately $40 for 2 people

Craving for simple dinner, we walked in to Crystal Jade at Clementi Mall and ordered only two dishes. Coincidentally both with eggs. Simmerred seasonal vegetable in superior broth ($12.80) is a good dish on a hot day. The vegetable is simmerred till very soft, and the broth together with egg, salted egg and century egg is good in flavour. Sauteed shrimp with scrambled egg ($13.80) is a dish that goes well with rice. The shrimps are fresh and huge, with crunchy texture.
