Good As Always
Smile 2013-05-08
After a tiring dance class, my friend and I were starved. And so, we headed to Din Tai Fung to have some of that famouse xiao long bao. When we got there, it was about 1pm, there was quite a queue. We had to wait for about 30 minutes to get a seat.

Anyway, as always, we ordered the pork xia long bao and the for the main dish, I had the pork rice. Order was served right away despite the crowded restaurant. The xiao long bao, ive noticed, had gotten smaller. Hmm. there wasn't enough sauce inside it anymore. But it was still good.

The pork rice was still big in serving. thankfully, it was more than enough to make me full after a strenuous class. The pork was cooked to become crispy on the outside but still tender. The rice was hot and had a lot of ingredients.

Went to the old place before the shift
Smile 2013-01-29
I went to Wisma's Ding Tai Fung Outlet before they shifted up to Food Republic.

There was a long queue for dinner time on a saturday evening, the place was bustling with local and foreigners.

After I was seated i was immediately served tea, which warmed up my stomach before my meal. The wait for the food was not too bad despite the full house situation, although the staffs were trying their best to keep up with our requests.

I even saw a ang moh family trying to immerse themselves in the chinese culture by using chopsticks all the way through out their meal, and I must say some of them are really good with it smile

Definitely enjoyed dining there.

Hey! it has shifted!
Smile 2013-01-23
Ah.. The address listed in this review is incorrect and has yet to be updated.

The friend and I had arrived in Wisma Atria and went up the escalators, looking out for Din Tai Fung. I remember being able to see it from the escalator before. It is now no longer in the old location but, has since shifted up to the top floor, nestled at the corner of Food Republic.

Despite its perpetual long queues, the crowd at Din Tai Fung often moves pretty fast. Thanks to the efficiency of the system, and of course, the patrons. It is one of those places where customers rarely linger and chill after their meal.

As always, a visit to Din Tai Fung would include an order of a basket of the Xiao Long Baos.

This time round, we ordered a Dan Dan noodle and spicy minced meat noodles.
I found that the noodles got a little too starchy for me after a while, though the friend said it was okay.
Personal preference I guess.

Din Tai Fung <3

If you step in Din tai fung and not try it's most famous dumpling then it's really a big mistake. It is the most juicy and tasty dumpling that I have ever tried. There's way fr you to eat the dumpling too. First you have to bite the tip of the dumpling, suck out the delicious juice from the dumpling then dip it in ginger soy sauce. I'm sure you would taste heaven!

For me, Dumpling is a Great Appetizer. I always have my prok fried rice next. In Din Tai Fung, they has the best grilled pork. It tastes fantastic eating with the well mixed fried rice. In every spoon there will be egg that was evenly distributed.
Beside, they do serve hot jasmine tea and service charge will be included in your pay slip.
After all, with this 2 dish I'm sure you are pretty happy full. Enjoy!

Bon Appetite
Meg

Zha Jian Mee
Smile 2012-07-28
This bowl of zha jian mee looks really good and taste equally delicious too. The noodles are very chewy and the portion is very generous. Really love those thick dark gravy topped on the generous amount of sliced chinese mushrooms with juicy minced pork and lots of chopped spring onions on it too. The combination is simply delicious and satisfying. If you can take chilli, do add in some of their sambal chilli as well which will add in some kick to this yummy dish!

Din Tai Fung
Just OK 2012-04-24

My friends and i always want to try the food at Din Tai Fung. Last friday, we finally had a chance to try. We reach Din Tai Fung at about 5.30pm but outside the outlets, there were already people queuing. After 10 minutes, we finally had a place.
I ordered the prawn fried rice. The fried rice tasted nice but normal for me. I will definitely not paying a visit to Din Tai Fung for a short period.

Din Tai Fung
Smile 2012-04-01
On my boyfriend's birthday, we went to Din Tai Fung to celebratesmile
I have eat here many times with my family. Every time, we would order almost the same things with the above pictures because those are our favourite!
I knew that they are going to serve hot Jasmine Tea with free flow frequently top-up so I didn't order any drink smile
The Dumpling came first. It was steamy hot! I picked 1 up and took a small bite to make a hole to suck the juice inside the dumpling. It would be nicer if you deep the rest of the dumpling to your ginger soya sauce instead of eating it alone.
The fried rice with pork chop came second. The smell is so nice! I quickly took 1 spoon of fried rice and get a bite of pork. It made my day! I love the fried rice! It has a lot of fried egg-yolk. The rice are the pork are not dry but they have this juicy taste. It's not oily too! Overall, the fried rice are just perfect! And it's only $10.90! You can share this with one more person.
We had the noodle last~ To me, I think the noodle with pork rib is very fattening! The meat however is cooked till its very soft. The noodle has a very original flour taste. When you eat the noodle together with meat and a bit of soup, it's nice.
I'm really satisfied with my dinner meal at Din Tai Fung. The environment made you feel relaxing and chilled when eating. The service was good. Just that, when you come to this restaurant, you have to wait for very long queue if it's pick hour. However, it's all worth the wait.
Cheers!

Din Tai Fung are always very limited, we ordered a little bit from each to share among the 5 of us. Don't order too much if you're not a big eater, as most of their items are made of flour, so it would be very filling.

The fried rice with egg was nicely fried and got the chinese saying " Wok Hei" when we tried it. Portion was enough to be shared by two or three people. Their fried rice is a must try and you will know what "Wok Hei" im talking about...

Staffs were not very friendly, you don't attend to you unless you call them for a few times.

We quickly got down to ordering and ordered a xiao long bao of 6 plus hong you chao shou.

Tea was also served at 1 dollar per person which is free flow. My friends and i really like the xiao long bao and the hong you chao shou. The hong you chao shou was so fragrant and spicy and the dumpling was also really nice. Their service is very good despite it being so crowded, our tea is always being refilled constantly so thumbs up to that.

Xiao Long Bao
Just OK 2011-10-04

This is my second visit to Din Tai Fung , first time I was only accompany my sister to eat and I tried the xiao long bao she ordered which makes me decided to go a second time. Ordered xiao long bao and two main dish for two of us. The one with noodle and mushroom is my sister's . I forgotten the dish name but the noodle was very bland and meat was very little. Whereas mine was not very nice too.. Perhaps we ordered the wrong dish to try as I heard beside the girl was saying fried rice was her favourite and after that my friend also told me fried rice is nice... maybe I should try that next time..

Hot and Sour Soup at Din Tai Fung
Smile 2011-08-30

I wouldn't usually order Hot & Sour Soup at Din Tai Fung but my friend wanted it. Since I was already (over) ordering everything else for our group who was I to say no. People usually come here for xiao long bao and their famous noodles.

It came last, and we were all very stuffed, but nobody could stop eating it. Perfect balance of flavors, tofu, pork, egg, mushrooms, etc. I was quite happily surprised. the balance of (mild) hot to (mild) sour just worked for me.

The xiao long bao here are kind of overrated and pricey.

a sweet xiao long bao
Smile 2011-08-10
Just when you think they xiao long bao is a savoury dish, here comes this red bean xiao long bao. When my girlfriend told me about this, I was kind of skeptical how it would taste, we normally relate xiao long bao with the soupy dumpling, so how can you fill it up with red bean. But my girlfriend was certain it was delicious and ordered a big long. Well when it arrived, we each tried one and you know what? It was absolutely delicious. The skin was thin like the normally xiao long bao but this one had red bean filling. It is indeed a must try!
