i ordered the black carrot cake from ding feng. The carrot cake here is really good, the black sauce they added to the carrot cake makes it taste really sweet. The carrot cake is very soft and chewy. it was seasoned perfectly, not too salty. It was also not very oily as well. The portion was pretty large. Their chilli is separated from the carrot cake, it is not fried together but placed beside it. The chilli is good, goes well with the carrot cake, giving it an extra flavor. continue reading

Whenever i dine in at any chinese restaurant, i will always order a zha jiang noodle. I just love the combination of the minced meat sauce with the noodle. The zha jiang noodle at din tai fung is good! The serving may look small but it is actually quite filling. If the sauce was given a bit more, it will be even better! continue reading

My girlfriend was craving for oyster omelet so we headed to xin char chan teng, outside jurong point to get it. their oyster omelet is one of the nicer ones we eaten. The oysters are large and juicy. there isn’t a lot of starch in the omelet. Their chilli sauce is really good, sweetish and sourish, goes well with the oyster omelet. They also add quite a bit of vegetables inside too and it is not so oily. continue reading

Anyone who lives near Jurong Point would probably know that this stall has one of the best fried prawn noodles in the area. I always have friends and family recommending me the fried prawn noodles from this stall and I finally decided to give it a try for dinner. The leave (?) they use to wrap the noodles had a really strong smell which I didn't like but it gives the noodles a special flavour. The noodles were well-fried and I really liked the sauce. I'm slightly allergic to prawns so I gave it to a sibling. Apparently the prawns were fresh but lacked a little bit of taste. Its pretty hard to find tasty fried noodles in the area and I really liked the one from this stall. The only downside is when I tried to order one without vegetables, I was told they mass fry the noodles so they can't do that for me. It costs around $4.20 continue reading

The fried prawn noodle that I tried is marvelous! Its worth queuing up for! The amount of gravy in it is just nice so that the noodle is not too wet nor too dry. However, its standard has dropped a bit as the prawns were not very tender but they were still very fresh! continue reading
