After the First Visit to Flor Patisserie's Cafe / Bakery nearly two years back, I revisited it again this year, with *Katherine. The lovely glass panels and distinctive blue-white painted walls were still around, and it was nearly a comfort.Located at 2 Duxton Hill, #01-01 Singapore 089588 , the number to dial is 6223 8628. One finds a wide array of fresh, light-flavored, fruity Japanese-inspired French pastries awaiting in their colors harmony, each looking more delectable than the other. It had been a tough choice to pick out the two cakes we wanted, from a whole array of interesting looking flavors, but we settled on the Wakakusayma (green tea swiss roll, usually priced at SGD$7.60) - one of my favorites. Note that their texture is not exactly fluffy light or melt-in-your-mouth soft, but the sapid aroma of green tea was notably distinct, and the fruits were very fresh.Next, we had the Strawberry Souffle (SGD$7.30 a piece) - soft as chiffon cakes are, and the fresh cream was delightfully sweet in a light manner. There were fresh strawberries adorning the top and seeping in between the layers of the cake, and we liked the presence of real fruits.I also ordered an additional Iced Cheese Tart (SGD$3.40) in Original flavor - they were thoughtful to slice it up into quarters for us. The solid crust was a lovely contrast to the icy cream-cheese layer atop. The cheese flavor was light, and smooth, the way I remember it was during my very first visit. For more detailed information and photos, please feel free to visit:http://thearcticstar.blogspot.sg/2014/07/tea-at-flor-patisserie-bakery-cafe-again.html continue reading

The outlet sells a variety of delicate looking Japanese style French pastries, which uses mainly fresh fruits, are lighter in flavour then conventional French pastries. The Blue Donut ($7.20)Mystical coloured Butterfly Pea mousse infused with honey, honey layered with vanilla mousse and signature sponge. Topped with thicken yoghurt and sprinkled with crunchy pistachios.Expecting the yoghurt to be sourish, but turns out quite smooth and light in taste. The Butterfly Pea mousse has a kind of fruity texture and taste.Napoleon ナポレオン ($7.20)Traditional Napoleon, made with Chef's signature puff pastry, the strawberry version. The Napoleon seems to have changed over the years. I remember the Napoleon used to have the puff pastry top and bottom, not the current side by side. But then it is easier to handle the cake in this way. Tastes quite light except for the sourish strawberries.Overall I quite like the cakes as they are not too sweet and taste quite good. continue reading

We loved the cakes very much - they are freshly made every morning (and tasted so good!). As for the shop decor, it is nice and sweet but nothing to shout about - just cosy for two. Great place to spend a lovely sweet time with your loved ones. We had our fav earl gray tea to go with the cake too. The tea is refillable for free (hot water only lah). Good to spend a lovely afternoon there. A lot of people make order for their cakes and come for collection too. continue reading

Marron Pie, Thats what they call this. There are many layers to this small piece of cake which makes it really special. It is a very buttery and fragrant cake that is very unique because at the bottom of this cake is a crunchy puff like curry puff kind of flaky. In the center, you get pieces of chestnut thats slightly sweetened. Overall, the taste of this is so heavenly, you will agree that one small piece is just not enough! continue reading
