Located right in front of the bus stop opposite the primary school is Fluff Bakery, according to previous reviews, you could only get one dozen cupcakes per person. But now, I guess who doesn't want extra business, THERE'S NO LIMIT to the number of cupcakes you can buy! But they do sell out.We were queueing at 1120am and we were the 5th in line, here's the queue at 1145am and at 1245pm, the queue was just as long too, even though the bakery had been opened for 45 minutes.Just 15 minutes before opening, a staff comes out to write the variety of sugary treats that they will be selling today.Everything sounded so good, as you read down the list, and as you peer through the glass window, you can see them for yourself. I JUST WANT A SUGAR OVERDOSE RIGHT MEOW!The nutella red velvet and salted caramel are always available, it's the remaining 4 that rotates.Being the fifth in line, as we walked in, we had a good choice of what we wanted to try.As we were cafe hopping the whole day, I couldn't order 2 of everything to bring home. OR I would've! I did see the girls in front of me order something like $60 worth of cupcakes. Each cupcake is priced at $4. A heft price tag on a cupcake. But it's worth sharing, to simply eat one whole cupcake by yourself will engulf yourself in pure guilt and sugar high!1. BandungI loved the bandung cupcake above all other cupcakes in the world! The frosting itself had the sweet aroma of bandung. The cake itself was subtly sweet and in the center core was a jam of bandung. Of the 3 cupcakes we tried, this was the least sweet and I could not get enough of it. You will not feel gerlat, or heaty from this cupcake unlike the other two.Check out the bandung in the center. It is simply heavenly!2. Dark Chocolate Cookie Dough Liquid CheescakeThe dark chocolate cookie dough on the top was really hard, I could tell it was frozen for a bazillion years before getting topped on top of this cupcake. The cake itself wasn't too sweet, but the liquid cheesecake inside was a bit salty. A good blend of the cake itself. 3. Triple Nutella Hazelnut BrittleOkay so for a sweet tooth person, I don't like overly sweet stuff and this cupcake was too sweet for me. This was a bit of a let down, being that I loved every word in the name of this cupcake. Right in the center you have the traditional Nutella which is always sweet, but compared to the other two cupcakes, it was SUPER DOOPER sweet. It was beyond sweet, I starting digging for my water bottle, which I had misplaced. Nonetheless, I do give them credit for this cupcake. My conclusion is, the reason why people love Fluff bakery cupcakes is because of their interesting and creative flavours and because as people queue up for these cupcakes, THEY ARE FRESH!  continue reading

They open their shop at 12pm and the moment it opens, you will see queue! I queued for 20 minutes before entering the small shop space and I was definitely NOT disappointed! They have interesting flavours like explosive eggnog latte speculoos crumbs, peacan cream cheese cinnamon roll, solgro ice cream etc. Being a traditionalist, I still prefer their nutella red velvet and salted caramel ones, they are so soft and fluffy! I know sometimes they serve Ondeh Ondeh, Mango Sticky Rice and Earl Grey Pear Honey for their cupcakes, I will be back to try those!Read more: http://www.misstamchiak.com/20-halal-cafes-in-singapore/ continue reading

I actually didn't know of this little bakery until a colleague told us about it. Apparently, it is a really popular bakery specializing in halal cupcakes where the demand always exceeds the supply. Because of this, we went early, before 1pm. Fortunately, the shop was opened for business despite a "closed" sign. There was also quite a queue there and the cupcakes were so popular and moved so fast that the staff barely seemed to have the time to restock the display which looked kind of bare. Make no mistake about it, this is a small and humble shop alright, but here, quality and taste counts for more than anything else. There were no tables or seats to dine in. Instead, we just told the counter what we wanted and they packed the cupcakes for us to pay at the cashier as we moved down the queue. Service was pretty decent and the cashier was both soft-spoken and courteous when I enquired about the prices. There are supposed to be over 80 kinds of flavours but only 6 flavours are sold per day, although the popular Nutella Red Velvet and Salted Caramel seem to be a permanent fixture on the menu. This shop is also a firm believer of pushing the boundaries when it comes to creating innovative flavours such as Horlicks Dinosaur, Gingerbread Maple Liquid Cheesecake, Boston Cream Pie and Green Apple Yakult Lemon! The flavours available when we went included the Nutella Red Velvet, Salted Caramel, Spiced Pumpkin Salted Caramel Latte, Mango, Lavender Blueberry and Peanut Butter Salted Dark Chocolate Cashew Bark. Quite a mouthful! Being a fan of Nutella, I was initially planning to get the Nutella Pie and the Nutella cupcake but was disappointed that the pie was sold out even though they started selling at 12pm and we were there before 1pm! You can certainly see how popular this bakery is! My second choice was to get the Nutella Red Velvet cupcake and Salted Caramel cupcake, but just right before ordering, another staff brought out a new batch of Peanut Butter cupcakes which I found pretty, so I quickly substituted the Salted Caramel for it! Nutella Red Velvet Cupcake ($4.00)The cupcake was moist and the frosting was thick and flavourful! There was a decent amount of Nutella filling in the center too! I like that the cupcake was not very sweet or overloaded with sugar like some cupcakes can be. Peanut Butter Salted Dark Chocolate Cashew Bark Cupcake ($4.00)This was moist and quite fluffy and there was a really creamy peanut butter taste which I simply adore! To my surprise, there was a chocolate filling in the middle of the cupcake which I did not expect (I was expecting peanut butter). Despite that, this was not too sweet either and there was also a hint of saltiness. Prior to tasting the cupcakes, I had initially thought that I'd like the Nutella Red Velvet cupcake better, but I was surprised to discover that I actually preferred this Peanut Butter cupcake more! My colleagues also bought the other flavours which was well-received by everyone in the office!Overall, I'd definitely recommend Fluff Bakery if you are a fan of cupcakes! The shop is usually open until the cupcakes are sold out, so you definitely need to go early to prevent any disappointment. Also be prepared to queue for a bit. The prices for all the cupcakes are $4.00, which some may find a tad pricey. But I think these are quite worth it. The cupcakes are moist and each are cored by hand and filled with specially created surprise center filling that is rich but yet not so sweet! Of course, I don't claim to have tried all of their flavours, but try the Salted Caramel if you want a safer option. If you are adventurous and don't mind teasing your palate with a whimsical mix of flavours, then go for anything and try a bit of everything. You'll never know if you might be surprised by a cupcake like I was with the Peanut Butter Salted Dark Chocolate Cashew Bark. It is certainly worthwhile to keep an open mind when you are at Fluff Bakery! continue reading
