4th Anniversary was celebrated "discreetly" at this corner of Singapore's oldest Museum's food for thought. This initiative by the guy was pretty new to me us as we never had dined in the Museum after the visiting hours where surrounding was pretty quiet that you could even hear the pin if it drops. The soup of the day came with a thick cut butter brioche, crispy and totally a stomach filler. However, it's the best pairing for the chunky mushroom soup of the day. While having seen the next table enjoying some sinful delights like these, we decide to join in. The chicken wings were deeply fried in its crispiness form and revealing its juicy pipping hot meat under the coat of batter. If you are game for some snacks, this is one of the better choices.Grilled Barramundi with Basil Almond Peso was great and was also one of their chef's recommendation. I had enjoyed the top layer of crisp clinging onto the Barramundi Fillet with assorted stirred fried vegetables stacking up the fillet. The presentation from the colours were soothing and alluring. The baby back ribs were heavily coated in its honeyed Hoisin Braised Sauce, paired with salt pepper and cherry tomato salad, yummy!Needless to say, the ribs were well whipped from the kitchen and every piece of ribs featured the tenderness and juiciness giving the need for a continuous bite.Ambiance at night in the corner was perfect for a night out if you want to enjoy your couple time. However, I find that the service crews were overly attentive to our movements and I was quite uncomfortable with someone excessively staring at our plates while we were dining. However, in a good sense, our plates were quickly cleared away by the individuating attention the assist had provided. continue reading

Walking in the botanic garden at 9am, the first thing we were looking for was? Aha, it was breakfast! This was the first restaurant we came across. If you are bringing kids and fancy a relaxing meal, you won't want to miss this. There is a playground for your kids to run wild while you are having your meal. There is a small kids dining area too.In fact, this restaurant has the most high chairs than any other restaurants that we have came across.Mee Rebus and tea set ($6)They seems to offer many tempting western breakfast, but DG was in the mood for Asian food. So we ordered this Mee Rebus for sharing. I only planned to have few bites but the gravy was really delicious. It was thick, the way I love it, and the tauge was barely cooked, giving a refreshing crunch to every bites. Two thumbs up! continue reading

Had a lovely brunch out here with friends and kids. I had a bangers & mash and it was good! Hub had a pasta with Broccoli and prawn. That was good too! The kids enjoyed their kids meal too with the mini juice pack! Too cute!Best part is the kids can run outside the cafe and you can watch them play outside while enjoying adult conversations inside with aircon. 2 thumbs up for good food and location. continue reading

I am a big fan of earl grey and went all the way to try when a friend ring me and told me about it. The interior is quite spacious and cool. it was quite packed on a morning, i supposed people eat there after exercising at botanical gardens?Tried the earl grey dessert but it wasn't good enough... quite disappointing. The flavor is not there. The earl grey tea tasted like any tea that can be easily found outside. Most tables are eating the breakfast but we had somewhere else in the planning, perhaps will drop by again. continue reading

I have a liking for cafe or restaurant that embraces the concept for their customers to customise their own dish. I guess it's a little more of a hassle for the chef but definitely more pleasing to the individual customers since all of us have unique taste.Like eighteen chef, Food for thought also have the similar interesting concept that I love, one which allow customers to be adventurous to customize their own dish.As you can see, the price of the various 'ingredients' are stated individually and you can easily customize your own dish according to your taste bud and also, financial practicalitly wise, according to your budget. Now that there is also circle line that leads to Botanical Garden, makes travelling alot easier. The garlic mushroom smell and taste really good and does not have a too over powering garlic taste. People like me who do not prefer too heavy garlic taste would still love it i'm sure.Salad is freshly made and vegetables are really crunchy and good.Sausage is grilled(I supposed) nicely and not too geasy. Chewy and tangy.Love my own customized dish! continue reading
