My hubby told me his friend highly recommends the kueh pie ti here. As I've just had a late dinner here, I only decided to order one popiah to try. Well, if the filling is good, it's likely that both the kueh pie ti and popiah will be nice right?I was not too happy when the stall owner handed me a pre-wrapped popiah which she seemed to have packed away already. She took the popiah out from a bag that's meant for takeaway. Oh well, I didn't want to kick up a fuss and just accepted it. Perhaps that's the last of her popiah so she wrapped it up for takeaways first. Thankfully, the filling was still slightly warm - piping hot would be even better. The popiah skin was soft and thin and was not soggy. The ingredients within was well-balanced between the radish, peanuts and lettuce. There was even very finely sliced cucumber within which enhanced the taste. Really pretty good popiah I'll say. Definitely will come back at an earlier time so that I can truly savor a hot piping popiah and the kueh pie ti.Popiah - $1.40 continue reading

Fortune Food is my favourite snack stall especially when I'm not that hungry but feeling munchy. Fruit salad ($3) is quite similar to rojak, the sauce is slightly too sweet, but the peanut tastes good. Pie tee ($3 for 5) has a crispy 'cup', inside filled with saucy radish with shrimps. Topped with chilli and parsley, I like both the flavour and texture of it. Satsfying. Best of all is the popiah roll ($1.40). Again, the juicy radish filling is flavourful, with lots of deep-fried onions and garlic, as well as dried crispy shrimps and chopped parsley, all in all, thumbs up! continue reading

Some decent popiah for the pricing; nothing great but taste wise is acceptable. The skin is very soft and the funny thing is that the popiah is not soaking with the sweet sauce. Guess their skin is such to begin with. They do sell the other kind of popiah too, the kueh pie ti. continue reading

Was rather disappointed with this popiah as the bean sprouts used seemed to be overcooked and left a bitterly after taste that spoilt the entire popiah. The crushed peanut was also rather unfresh. Although it was quite well wrapped and the fillings didnt fall off when I picked up each piece. Unfortunately, the taste was too poor and I would not go back to the stall again. continue reading
