I was walking with my friends to go to Boat Quay area.. Took a slow walk and decided to detour to Market Street...I heard a bit of the Nasi Briyani at this place... Ordered the chicken Briyani and went after lunch to avoid the lunch crowd..The rice as grainy as ever which is a good thing... not too much lumps which makes the rice really tasty... The chicken serving was fantastic... The curry portion was quite huge... i requested the drown the curry on the rice as i like my nasi briyani that way....The service was pretty OK not too bad.... The taste was awesome... nice stuff... continue reading

colleague was in Raffles place, so asked him to 'dabao' for me.it was about 11am, so there isn't any queue at that time..this is my 2nd time eating it..i think that you have to request for fork & spoon upon 'dabao',as colleague didn't get it for him, ended up using my chopsticks & spoon.the picture may not look appealing, but indeed it's delicious..the portion of the rice is alot, it is very filling..was given a big piece of chicken..the chicken is very tender, not like those overcooked which turns out very dry..as seen from my pictures, it's very 'meaty' and upon peeling off the chicken,it came out in chunks and not shred..this meal cost me $4.50, so worthwhile!big portion of rice with such a 'meaty' chicken! continue reading

Had a sinful lunch last Friday at Market street, raffles place. This is one of the best Briyani i have tasted. Looking at the queue everyday during lunch time, you will know i am not kidding. it took me about 20 mins of queuing before it is my turn. I took away as it is crowded and i cant find seats. the serving is very generous with a huge piece of quarter chicken and a big portion of briyani rice with pickles and curry. It only cost me $4.50. definitely must try. a word of caution - not to have it too often (health reasons) continue reading

Bought this Briyani during my lunch break! Queue for about 5 minutes before it reach my turn during weekday of 12pm.It cost $4.50.The rice is not normal white rice but is the briyani type, and the chicken is just fried one so it is hot. It tastes good together with the black sauce that i can self-service to squeeze out. Besides that, they also give cucumbers on the plate.Overall, i have it not bad and plus serving is large that i couldn't finish them continue reading

Wah seh! I tell you, this is one superb briyani stall man. First things first, the curry sauce; TOKONG man! The gravy is thick and full of the smell of the indian spices. Though a little saltish, the flavour digs well into the chicken. Yes! The chicken! Crispy crispy crispy! Soft and easy to debone, convenient to eat. continue reading
