There were two very popular Indian Rojak stalls at Ayer Rajah Hawker Centre. I decided to try Habib's Rojak, since I tried the other stall recently.I choose about five items such as egg, potato, beancurd, fish cake and the total cost was $5, similar to other Indian Rojak stall pricing. The rojak's items were freshly deep fried when ordered. The plate of Indian Rojak had a fragrant of fresh oil and a hint of coconut. The rojak's items were piping hot and crispy on the outside. I especially liked the egg. The egg was wrapped with a layer of floury skin which tasted slightly savory. The chilli sauce given was good with the rojak. It had cooked chopped peanuts which was still slightly crispy. The chilli sauce also tasted quite sweet and spicy. Overall, I find that the two famous Indian Rojak stalls here selling similar items at similar price and also similar taste. continue reading

The potatoes are satisfying and when it is combined with the gravy. It was something so simple but yet so delicious. The potatoes are specially selected and have to be parboiled before frying. Ordered the crispy prawn fritters. They are really crunchy and the umami flavours really stands out. It is almost no different from the Sakura Ebi that you can order from a Japanese Restaurant, only this one is much cheaper. continue reading
