Han's - The Tasty Town

Late for lunch with my colleague. To find a place to have lunch in CBD area you have to be early or need to find a place with bigger seating area.
And we decide to go to Han's at Great Eastern Centre. The place got a big seating area.
Their special for the day is Grilled Salmon Fillet. Order a set at $15.80. Come with a bowl of soup, coffee or tea or juice and dessert. (fruits)
The qunce will start form if you come in late. But they are fast in their order taking as there a service person to take your order first before you reach the counter. Those who want to seat next to the window, be careful the table are shaky.
The food came fast within 10 minute.
The salmon meat is thick and juicy. Worth the money.
Soup base is thick also.
For the coffee is bitter. Minus point for this item.
Fruit is normal.
Overall. Okay place to have a casual or business lunch.

avoiding the lunch crowd at Raffles Plc,
so decided to eat here with my colleague..
this place has 2 sections, the normal dining area, and also the low table dining area..
love the concept! so relaxing.

today's damage is $9.60..
chose the set meal..there's quite a number of choices..
as for the drinks, you can choose coffee, tea, orange juice or iced lemon tea..
the set meal consists of a main dish, soup, drinks & dessert..
forgotten to take pic of the drink, as I was too thirsty and gulped it down..

these are the desserts..
garlic bread and watermelon!next, we go to the soup..
it's mushroom soup with few slices of chicken..
love it loads! it's creamy, thick and rich!next, to the main dish..
the fries are like truffle fries,
thicker than the normal fries and crispy too!
however, the dory fish is kinda dry, but it's thick and goes well with mayo, tabasco or chilli sauce.
had tried going along with all 3 sauces and all taste good.

This place is really huge and can accomodate a lot of people. Ordered the fish and chips as i was craving for western food. It was not bad as the portion of it was very big and filling. Took the set meal and i love the soup. It was the best soup i have ever had for a long time. They served the food quite quickly too and we didnt have to wait for too long as i was starving by then.

Value for money - this is how I would describe the food from Hans. Ordered the fish and chips set meal which consists of a soup with garlic bread, main course (fish and chips), drink and a piece of fruit ( watermelon) for only $9.80 (no service charge and gst inclusive). However, I find that the fish and chips is kinda oily.

As the restaurant is kinda big, it is quite easy to find seats even during lunch time.

SGD 10(Lunch)

This puff is not bad.A bit crispy.
It has a strong and nice butter smell.
But it is too small,after ate one,i feel like wan to eat more.The orange juice and the Coffee ice is just normal.
Nothing special.
But it can make me fresh.
I more prefer the hot coffee,it taste nicer than ice coffee.

This Han Cafe also serves the gourmet dishes beside the usual local and western dishes.

The cafe is located between Chinatown and Raffles Place in the Great Eastern building. The place is quite big and has nice modern decor.Dad picked smoked duck breast which is serve with nice salad and mashed potato. Tried his duck which is tender and lean except for the fat near the skin. Like the salad which has orange vinaigrette taste with cherry tomato and raisins which gives a nice texture. I ordered the Boneless Chicken Thigh with Teriyaki sauce. The chicken fillet was pan fried till slightly brown and serve with the yummy Teriyaki sauce.The Chicken Caesar salad was served with slices of chicken on top a plate of raw vegetables and hard boiled eggs with crispy bread crotons to give a crunchy texture.Mum decided on local flavours which is Hor Fun. The Hor Fun is 'wok hei' fried flat noodle served with thick gravy of seafood and meats.I ended the meal with an Earl Grey Raspberry cake from their bakery section. The cake presentation look like hotel standard but taste is not up it. It is not bad but does not have the nice cream filling and texture of those 5 stars hotel bakery. At least the price is about 1/3 those of top pastry shops.

Overall the gourmet dishes we tried were good and affordable at less than $15 and nicely presented.

SGD 15(Tea)

I believe this is the biggest of all the Hans restaurants. It was separated into two section, one for dining and the other a cafe.
The few times that I had been here were during the weekends or after office hours. It was very quite, not many customers during those times. If you are looking for a place to have a gathering of a big group of people, this is definitely a place you can consider. During those times when I was there, we had at least thirty to forty people, not including children. The staffs were very accommodating, they allowed us to sit and chat even after we had finished our dinner.
Hans has both Western and Local menu. Once I ordered the Aglio Olio (spicy) and upgraded it to a set, which included the soup of the day, coffee and dessert. It was delicious. I liked the capsicums. The set was worth it. The cakes looked tempting too but after the set meal, I was too full to have any. Maybe another time.
