This is the red tea jelly with lychee ice. Initially wanted to order Ice kachang but the stall uncle recommended me to have this indeed. Can't make myself reject the all smiley and friendly uncle so I decided to give it a try as I was told not many places have this red tea jelly. No harm trying something new though. I was not disappointed indeed. The red tea jelly is filled with the aroma of red tea and it goes well with the ice! The lychee is fresh and crunchy too. I will recommend this to my friends if they are going there for dinner! continue reading

After dinner, I decided to get dessert as usual and saw that the more famous "Jin Jin" dessert stall had a very long queue, so I decided to try out this stall which had no queue.I paid $1.20 for my ice kacang, which I think is quite cheap. Overall, I think that ice kacang is of average taste. Although the sugar syrup is sweet enough, but there isn't enough to go around all the ice. This stall's ice kacang by itself is average, but there is a good contrast when put together with "Jin Jin" ice kacang. If I had a choice, I would queue up and gladly pay $0.30 more and go for "Jin Jin" ice kacang. continue reading

My hubby and I wanted some dessert after our dinner and we decided on tau suan since it was quite some time since we last had it. I think tau suan is really an acquired taste and the you tiao really helps to lift the taste of the tau suan. I like it that the you tiao is not too soft from sitting out in the food shelves for too long. Soggy you tiao is hard to bite. The tau suan is not too sweet and the consistency is just right, not too thick nor too thin. continue reading
