I was surprised when i first came to this restaurant. All the meals look so carnivore! I am even more surprised when i first ordered their japanese set meal. The salmon sashimi and the teriyaki chicken taste so good i didnt realise i was on a vegetarian diet. The portion is very large too. It is more than enough for a guy's apetitite. Must try for a revolutionary vegetarian experience! Highly recommended if you have the extra budget ! continue reading

Not my first time to dine here, I could hardly believe it was the Vegetarian Restaurant. The food served here was in high quality and gorgeous presentation. Herbivore took effort and strained their brain in designing their foods, all of them appeared as if non-vegan cuisine. My favourite Chicken Cutlet, yet it was not the real Chicken Cutlet. My introduction sounded funny, in fact it was purely Vegetarian Dish. Came along with Appetizer, Soup, Side dish and Dessert, the combination was accomplished and fulfilling. Texture a bit different, Vegan Cutlet was mushy however the taste I can say more than 80% alike with the real. The most happiness thing was having Pudding after finishing the whole Bento Set, satisfied with the sweetness. Valuable set was $22.00.Don’t be deceived by the photo, it was another Vegetarian Cuisine. Cheesy and creamery taste with generous Mushrooms, Vegan Hams and Tomatoes, the dish was delicious through fattening. Sadly, I was not interested for this dish because I did not eat Mushroom. It priced at In general, it was another fabulous visit to Herbivore, and the creativity did impress me a lot. continue reading

As one of my colleagues is vegetarian, we are recommended by him to try out this unique vegetarian Japanese cuisine, located at Fortune Centre, Bugis. The ambience is quite nice, just that it's a little bit noisy and the lighting is dim. We ordered the bento set each and some side dish to share. The mock salmon sashimi really imitates the texture and even the flavour of the real salmon well! This nice Roasted Pumpkin Cubes is our favourite. Very fragrant and sweet. The bento here are all very large in portion and very completed meal with appetiser, main, soup, desserts and fruits. Ordered the Unagi Bento ($20+). The mock unagi is very fragrant with teriyaki sauce, and there is crispiness in the outer layer. The Teriyaki Chicken Rice Set ($20+) comes together with the braised tofu, fried onion rings, salmon sashimi, preserved vegetables and salad. The Miso Ramen Set ($20+) has the mock sashimi sushi which looks and tastes the same as the real one, the agedashi tofu, the salad and fried braised vege to come along. Each bento is really satisfying as we get to eat a variety of dishes in one set. they are really filling, so come with empty stomach! They sell vegetarian western cuisine too! And I really have to admit that this is very high quality vegetarian cuisine that I've tried so far. continue reading

Ordered this Butter Cream Mushroom Rice at this restaurant called, Herbivore and this dish is somehow way beyond my expectation. Perhaps it's because I'm not a vegetarian lover and yet this dish doesn't makes me feel sick. In fact the combination of mushrooms, rice, butter and vegetarian ham tastes really good. However, the portion is not huge and is not suitable for people who have a high diet.Furthermore, I think that it's a little bit too pricey for a vegetarian dish despite it doesn't look like one. continue reading

My friend suggested trying this vegetarian sandwich stall. Their menu looks tempting, I browse roughly other items, they have some interesting vegetarian food. We decided to give it a go.I just ordered a veggie tuna sandwich and pumpkin sandwich was for my friend. They have few types of breads for choice, we both chose wholemeal bread. Bread was lightly toasted. Taste wise for veggie tuna was light and bland, texture wise was OK. Frankly it didn’t really like tuna in terms of texture and taste. As for my friend’s pumpkin sandwich, it was just meshed pumpkin with some raw shredded veggie, sweet to taste. Both of us felt that if the filling could be more, it made a big difference. No harm on trying but we won’t return for sure. continue reading
