Ichiban Sushi is the most of my favourite restaurant. I've been this Jurong Point Ichiban Sushi for serval times. Whenever you be there, it must be very crowed and you need a long time to queue especially at the peak hour. So if you don't want to spend too much time on queue, please be there avoid peak hour. chopstick

I prefer to sit besides the belt then can pick everything you like. But if at the peak hour, the belt table usually is for 4 people sitting together. For the sushis, they are very fresh and delicious. I love the fried salmon skin. If you want that, please be early in case it is out of sell. bowl

I will continue to go my Ichiban Sushi.tongue

Ichiban Tori Maru Cheese Wazen
Just OK 2013-04-13

Well, if you give me a scale from 1-10 to grade this dish, i will give it around 6-7. It is too nice, but somehow is too salty and cheese make you feel full after eating for awhile. It costs $18.90(before GST and service charge), which is quite reasonable with the portion they gave and the amount of ingredient they added. However, as a lady, i am unable to finish the whole portion by myself. So you might want to bring a Macho man along!^^

Chicken Teriyaki Don
Smile 2013-02-15

Chicken Teriyaki Don is one of my favourite Japanese food as the chicken is deep-fried to perfection that it is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. With the sweet teriyaki sauce coated on the deep-fried chicken cubes, it does really helps to whet up my appetite as the teriyaki tastes a little bit sweet and I simply love it a lot. This a dish that everyone should try as it is inexpensive and tasty at the same time.

Dinner!
Smile 2013-01-29

I didnt manage to take down the prices and names as I was busy talking. I find that their tables were quite small and it was a quite a squeeze for the four of us but the service were not bad.

I ordered their salmon don and it tasted really heavenly, it was by far the nicest salmon don i ever eaten. The salmon were fresh and the portion was generous, the rice tasted extremely yummy that you could eat it on its own. Sesame oil and some other sauce was added to the rice that made it tasted so heavenly.

This was the pork rice set that we ordered and I find that it was just average. The pork slices were little and had a lot of fats which i do not really like. The fried food was so-so, and their chawanmushi was okay.

Overall, it was a satisfying meal because of the salmon don which really saved the day! bowl

Dinner Out!
Smile 2012-12-19

We love Ichiban as it offers many combination of set meals for us to choose from. Most importantly, the portion for one set meal is big enough to feed two! Recently, they added new dishes to their menu. We tried one of them - beef slices in sukiyaki sauce and baked tuna with lots of cheese on top. Verdict: 5/5! Simply delicious! The beef slices are thick and very tender!!! The baked tuna is my favourite!!! You do not need to order tuna sushi and you can just eat the tuna from the dish! Yums! The price is reasonable too!

Salmon & Unagi Sushi
Smile 2012-08-27 (Related Review)

The salmon used in their sushi is very fresh and totally not sting as well. The unagi fish used are also very sweet and full of the natural fragrant from the unagi itself. The japanese rice is also quite good in texture which is not too dry and really moist as well. Dip in the wasabi with japanese sauce certainly make it tastes even more delicious too. A dozen pieces for me is always never enough.

Curry Udon
Smile 2012-07-28

If you are tired of having your udon in the usual miso or clear soup in the japanese restaurant, then you may want to consider having this curry udon at ichiban. The thick udon is as usual very chewy and not soggy. The delicious part about this dish is the thick nice sweet japanese curry which really goes very well with the udon. Very appetitizing and the portion is just right for per person.

This is really very delicious. The spread is just so awesome! There is a bowl of rice with 3 pieces of chicken. The chicken was very soft, and it goes very well with the rice. I am able to gobble down the rice with the chicken onlylol The salmon was very tasty too. It tastes fresh but it ain't sliced very thick. The chawanmushi was super delicious. It's very soft and i don't have to chew it at all. The soup was tasty too, there was alot of food inside it, like mushrooms, noodles, tofu and golden mushroom! There's also watermelon as dessert. The portion was very big and definitely worth the money. The service was good and fast. The environment was suitable for chilling and enjoying a nice meal.

ichiban
Smile 2012-05-08

I love ichiban sushi for its fuss free dining. They even have a loyalty card which will give you one chop for every $20 spent, and after a certain number of chops, you can redeem sushis or $10 voucher. As I still have some stomach space after four plates of sushi, I redeemed the california sushi after accumulating 3 chops. The california sushi is quite tasty. The rice to ingredients ratio is just right, unlike some other places where the sushi rice takes up the bulk of the california roll. This is just nice. Also, there is also some avocado inside the california sushi, which is the first time I had it. Other places dont add avocado, so I thought this is pretty unique and tasty.

I like octopus sushi! Particularly those at Ichiban. The octopus sushi at Ichiban is thickly filled with baby octopus and the gravy. Also it is fresh and delightful. It is chewy and delicious. Ichiban serves great and fresh sushi, with the seaweed still crisp and cunches when you bite into it

Nice sushi. Not cheap but the quality is pretty good. It's better than most places. There is takeaway sushi and there's a lot of variety and sauces to choose from. The sushi here is pretty nice. And they are delicious and I would surely patronise again for their other main course. It was filling too so definitely worth going there again!

Ichiban Sushi! My favourite sushi at Ichiban Sushi is none other than the inari, which has lobster with mayo filling. The lobster is really tasty and the sweetness of the mayo really helped to bring out the best of the lobster. There is a little bit of of wasabi which I personally taught helped to top the sushi off really nicely. The salmon skin is very crispy & There's some salmon meat too. But I think there's too much MSG. After ate finished the whole pack,i need to drink many cups of water. I won't order that again, but will try their other food !!

Teriyaki Chicken Don
Smile 2012-02-06 (Related Review)

Decided to have just a rice bowl instead of a bento for lunch instead so I ordered for the Chicken Teriyaki Don. The teriyaki chicken don is a rice bowl topped off with chicken teriyaki and vegetables with a side of miso soup.

The skin of the teriyaki chicken is unexpectedly crispy and the teriyaki sauce is very sweet. Additionally, the sesame seeds give the chicken a nice sesame smell. The chicken itself is juicy and there's no excess oil.

The rice is Japanese rice and while the bowl does seem small, Ichiban Sushi is very generous and the rice bowl was compacted with rice. Extremely filling. The miso soup is relatively sweet and tastes like miso. No worries about it being too bland.

It costs only $9.90 and is very filling for one person. Definitely the better choice as compared to their set meals if you're looking for a one person serving item in Ichiban Sushi.

Approximately
SGD 9.90

I like this katsu chicken rice don!
as you can see they serve the rice with quite many pieces of fried chicken cutlet.
and it is melted with slices of cheese for yumminess..
and provide a better presentation for the dish.
it is served with a small bowl of miso soup, chawanmushi and salmon sashimi as a set meal.
there are some small beancurd cubes and seaweed are in the miso soup.
the soup and katsu chicken are just taste very nice!

Chasoba and unadon wazan
Smile 2012-01-29

The chasoba and unadon wazan consists of cold Japanese tea noodles, mini BBQ eel with rice bowl, miso soup and fruit.

The chasoba was tasty. The soba wasn't too "floury" and it is perfect when mixed with the tea. Unlike some restaurants where the tea tend to be tasteless, the tea actually tastes like tea. The unadon is a rice bowl with a small piece of bbq's eel and egg. I like the sweet sauce they put on the eel. The eel was soft and sweet. Egg was pretty average, like any other egg but it goes well when eaten with the eel and rice.

Miso soup was sweet too and the fruit was that day was orange. Overall, its very filling and I won't mind having it again when I'm craving for chasoba. Its pretty cheap considering there are so many food items. Cost me only $14.90
