cinnamon roll
Smile 2 days ago

Every time i come to Ikea to shop i will definitely visit the cafe for some snacks. There is a really attractive promotion going on where you can get a cinnamon roll and a coffee for only one dollar! The cinnamon roll is soft fluffy and delicious and is served warm. The coffee is average though, your typical coffee with no added flavour. However the price is so attractive I get this set all the time!

Supper Buffet
Smile 4 days ago

It was really cool that Ikea has come out with this special one day supper buffet on 14 June. I have joined the queue and almost took me more than twenty minutes before I have reached my turn and bring into the restaurant. At merely $6.90 nett per person for a three hours buffet, I really have nothing to complain. My favourite in their buffet spread will be their glutinuous chicken rice and the chicken porridge. The glutinuous rice is very soft and fragrant, even though abit oily, but this certainly won't affect the taste of it. The porridge is thick in texture and generous amount of tender sliced chicken meat can be found in it. The added spring onions and fried onion make it even more fragrant and appetizing. Staffs are friendly here and the restaurant is spacious and comfortable.

Snacks
Just OK 2013-05-27

Their fries and onion rings are good to have for snack if not hungry. The portion is okay though not a lot but enough to have for snack. The fries and onion rings are pre-prepared so it is not really crispy. Sometimes, it is still warm but sometimes, it is a bit soggy or cold. The expectation cannot be too high. It still tasted okay if not too fussy. A not bad snack to go with their coffee.

Salmon
Just OK 2013-04-10

This dish tasted blanch and the potato was hard like rock and tasteless. The salmon was alright, but still not the best that I had tried before. The sauce was thick and creamy. The beans were juicy, but I think because it was boiled before served. Overall, I don’t think it was nice and will not try again. However, $7.90 for salmon was acceptable in Singapore market.

Feast At Ikea
Smile 2013-03-10

It always a great pleasure to have meals at Ikea restaurant as lots of choice to choose from. Especially enjoy having their signature fried chicken wings and also the beef balls. Chicken wings are very crispy, fragrant and not too oily. Without any dipping of sauce to it, it still taste delicious. The meat balls are also chewy and tender. Prices are reasonable but long queues will be expected during meals hours.

Something different
Cries 2013-03-05

I tried something different on my last visit to Ikea Alexandra. By something different, I meant no meatballs and chicken wings! My friend and I were there for tea, and tried to order something healthy - the vegetable crepe. It was, to say the least, not very tasty. We couldn't even finish one of the two pancakes.

We then tried a dessert, the princess cake. It was too sweet and we couldn't finish half.

Overall, a disappointing triip to Ikea. We will definitely be back for the meatballs and chicken wings next time. However, the horse meat scare means that meatballs have been removed from the menu. sad

MeatBalls!
Smile 2013-02-27

After shopping for some furnishings, we decided to grab some bites at IKEA Restaurant & Cafe. My favourite food was the meatball, the meatball was super delicious with the topping of the meatball sauce, whenever I go there I will always other the meatball. The fried chicken wings there was also very nice. Well marinated deep into the bones. The meat was tender and even my braces teeth can bite through it without difficulty. The meat was cooked just right, though the price is a bit costly.

Ikea - Meatballs and chicken wings
Just OK 2013-02-18

Being a mountain tortoise and having not tried Ikea meatballs, I visited Ikea with my mum and we ordered a plate of meatballs to share and two chicken wings. The meatball set comes with potato by the side and we had free drinks because we had the Ikea member card. As a non-lover of meatballs, I must say the meatballs were not very delicious in my opinion, although the potatoes were cooked fairly well and texture was quite soft and good. The gravy from the meatballs were savoury and made the dish better on the whole. My mum told me that the meatballs used to be larger and juicier and the ones that we had paled in comparison. Coming from a person who is not picky about her food, this must mean a lot! Chicken wings were not exceptionally nice and the meat was a little too dry for my liking. However, quality of food would be considered acceptable as after a whole day of walking around and shopping, you would definitely be hungry!

Even though the canteen was huge, we almost couldn't find a table! Must be because it is near lunch time. I would order meatballs again if I come to Ikea only because the food choices available are not very wide and after all they are known or their meatballs.

Shop and Eat
Smile 2013-01-28

Chicken wings are one of my most favourite things in my world of food.
These are well cooked, flavourful, crispy and priced just right.
Convenient location in Ikea Alexander is that you can go shop after eating and go eat after shopping! smile
I always try to avoid lunchtime cause there's always a queue and the wait is usually as long as half an hour, so if one is really hungry and in a rush shouldn't take your chances on this.

Swedish Delight

   Chicken Wings

   Meatballs

   Apple Cake

I am sure almost everyone will agree with me. Ikea serves affordable and tasty Swedish food. Best of all, the portion is really filling. At times, I may visit Ikea just for the food, don’t really have the intention to want to buy furniture but nevertheless, I may still walk around if time permits. Usually, I will go to the one nearly to my place, the one at Alexandra. There are certain timings when the queue will be extremely long and the restaurant will be really crowded. However, the good thing is that the flow of the queue is quite fast. I always order my all-time-favourite meatballs. They come in pieces of 20 ($9.50), 15 ($8.00), 10 ($5.50) so order the one your appetite can take. Other than their usual sauce, they come with cranberry sauce and mash potatoes. I will always order the chicken wings ($7.50 for 6) as well. It is really hard to resist when you see them at the counter. You have to try the Lingonberry Drink ($1). Lingonberry are a popular berries in Sweden. It is healthy cause they are many benefits to it. It is only 1 bucks and it is refillable, definitely worth it. I spotted a new item on their dessert, the apple cake. This was so good when it was warmed.

Great place and food
Smile 2013-01-15

Well, these Ikea swedish meatballs definitely needs no introduction. And I do see why they are all so famous. Lovely texture and the sauce is splendid, even the mash potato served with it is great!. However, for people who doesn't take pork and beef need to take note that they are actually made up of those stuff. I believe they do sell halal ones at the Tampines branch.
A less famous thing on their menu is actually their chocolate mousse desert. A must try.

How can you not love Ikea food? :)
Smile 2013-01-13

I always love Ikea Cafe for its interesting way of ordering food and also its culture of returning-your-own-trays. It makes me feel like everyone is really civilised and considerate. This time, I shared a meal with a friend. We ordered the 20 meatballs, onion rings and a cheesecake! All in all it amounts to $18.20. The food looks so appetizing and yummy, I didn't even have the patience to take individual pictures before digging in! smile

Let me start with the meatballs. I think the standard of the meatballs seemed to have fallen over the years. It used to be quite springy and succulent, but yesterday's meatballs were kind of... soft and crumbles apart when you eat it. Oh well. The taste remains quite delicious though. The sauce is a bit creamy. There is a clump of jam (oh dear, I can't recognize what it is, I think it is raspberry? Definitely some fruit jam) to go with the meatballs. It has this sweet and fruity taste but I don't like it. I think it's weird to go with the meatballs... so I just stuck with the sauce. The potatoes at the side were quite hard. It's not mashed potato. It's filling but could be softer.

Onion rings are my favourite here! You don't feel like they re-used the oil to deep fry the onion rings. Whether they do so in actuality... I have no idea. At least it tastes good.

The cheesecake is my favourite part! It is quite different from other cheesecakes. This one is not the light, fragrant Japanese cheesecake that you normally find in NTUC/Bread Talk. It is more moist than usual cheesecakes and sour! I like sour cheesecakes. Anyway it's really nice.

I would say that this set shared by two people is just right to fill my stomach up smile At the end of the meal I feel really happy. That's what Ikea does to people, I guess. smile

You've never been to Ikea if you havent tried them
Just OK 2012-12-27

The place is always full of people. Remember to put in effort to keep the trays after dining.

Breaded fish serves with carrots and potatoes. Not bad but this is not always on the menu.

This is the must eat dish number 1. Meat Balls with Cheesy sauces. Strawberry Jam and potatoes. I never fail to order this when i dine there. However the recent visit to Ikea Alexandra, their meatballs are not that chewy.

This is the must eat dish number 2. Fried chicken wings.

Hot Food?
Just OK 2012-12-03

Ikea Cafe's food always look good and taste pretty decent as well. But i'm starting to feel that the food is never serve hot, only warm. Perhaps due to the the method of preparation, food is no longer prepared on the spot, likewise the gravy and sauces are no longer kept at a optimum higher temperature. For this lunch i ordered the ribeye beef with mushroom and broccoli ($9.90) and also 2 chicken wings ($2.80). Thanks to the Ikea card, i got complimentary coffee as well. Like mentioned earlier, my only gripe is the beef is only warm and not hot. The chicken wing is still the usual nice tasting but also not hot enough.

Love it!
Smile 2012-11-30

I went to Ikea after work and decided to just have dinner at their cafe. As always, I ordered the chicken wings and their meatballs! Even if it was a weekday, the crowd was insane so we had to wait for quite a while to place our order. Good thing, we got a table.

Anyway, the meatballs were still up to standard. A bit crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. They were quite generous with the sauce so that was a big plus for me! Potato slices were big and tender.

I ate the chicken last. Even though it wasn't cold anymore, the chicken was still crispy! The flavour just seeped to the bone, which i loved!
