Here at Jack's place never fail to impress me with their fish & chips. For the price of $15.50 per serving, portion is consider quite generous as the dory fish is really huge in size and the fish meat is very soft and fresh. The outer crust is also very crispy and not too oily as well. French fries are crispy and soft in the inner parts, not too salty. Have also ordered their Oyster Natural (4 pcs for $15.80) which consider quite expensive. Happy is very fresh and no stingy smell when having it. yummy! Service is friendly and restaurant is cosy and comfortable. continue reading

I went to Safra Jurong for IPPT. After that I was hungry and decided to find a restaurant to dine. Hence, I decided to dine in at Jack's Place as the last time I ate at Jack's Place was about ten years ago. From the menu, there were the usual western chops, I decided to order Mixed Grill which consisted of grilled chicken, beef steak, lamb chop, sausage, and bacon, topped with an egg sunny side up.The taste of the meats were quite bland with no marination or seasoning. The beef was medium cooked and the texture was quite chewy. The lamb meat was also too chewy. There was very little sauce on the hot plate, it was slightly sweet, savoury and starchy, similar to KFC mashed potato sauce. But the sauce given was too little to eat with all the meat on the hot plate. continue reading

Last weekend, I went to Jack's Place for lunch together with my hubby. Their lunch sets are priced quite attractively. For a little more than $10, you get the main dish, garlic bread, tea/coffee and dessert. I ordered the sirloin steak which costs $15.90. The steak was done exactly the way I wanted it to be, medium to well done which is great. Sometimes it came out too bloody, but the steak I ate last weekend was good, there is no blood when I cut it and the steak is quite tender as well even with its thickness. The accompanying sauce complements the steak well. The baked potato is something which I enjoy a lot at Jack's Place as they will put mayo on the potato and top it with bacon bits and spring onions which made it very tasty from the smoothness of the mayo and saltiness of the bacon bits. Try out Jack's Place if you want affordable and value for money lunch sets! continue reading

After my dismaying visit a previous time to the bukit panjang branch, I decided to try this branch as my friends recommended this branch to me. I ordered the Sirloin Steak ($27.50) and expected it to come in the black cow-shaped hotplate instead of a normal plate. As usual, I ordered the medium rare and they really delivered this time! I was impressed (: I didn't like those round radish looking thing at the side though and left it untouched. The fries were hot and crispy, just the way I like it. I'm so glad that I came to this branch because Jack's Place has redeemed itself, at least this branch did. continue reading

I ordered the dory fish that comes with tomato sauce, a whipped potato and some vegetables. The fish tasted soft and aromatic and the tomato sauce helped to enhance the taste of the dory fish. I don't really like the whipped potato and vegetables as it tasted so blend. I also felt the fish serving was small and it could be further improved by having bigger portions served to future patrons. continue reading
