Jack's Place

This one is one of their biggest and oldest outlets. To the food itself, we started with lobster bisque soup. It was quite good although the amount of lobster is somewhat dismal (oh well). We also ordered the garlic escargots and this is really good with the amount of garlic just right. Escargots are better tasting than they sound. I then tried the steak but the potato was a little disappointing because it wasn't warm. The steak was acceptable for its price because of the sauce.

The Food
I ordered the rib eye steak set lunch which come in sizzling hot plate, soup of the day, garlic bread, dessert and coffee or tea. The succulent rib eye steak is tender and juicy and comes with side dishes of baked potato, salad and corn. The barbeque sauce accentuates the meaty flavour, making every bite seem irresistible. Lastly, the sweet dessert which consists of dessert and tea makes me very satisfied

The Price
Priced at $13 which was indeed worth every dollar spent.

Today boss is treating us. We are all having the daily set lunch.We start with soup of the day, which is served with garlic bread. The soup tastes like tomato soup but not creamy enough.Ice Lemon Tea ($3.50)
There is a 1-for-1 promotion. A lot of ice cubes, not much of a taste.Roasted Whole Chicken Leg with Honey Pepper Teriyaki Sauce. ($12.40)
Very tender and well seasoned chicken. The chicken is evenly and well roasted, with crispy and thin skin. The vegetables are cut into small pieces and well cooked. But the fries is way too salty for me.Fish & Chips ($13.50)
Looks not bad from the way my lunch mates finish them off.As dessert, we are having apple pie with custard sauce. The pie is too sweet for me. The sauce tastes too plain for me. And we end the meal with a cup of tea or coffee. The tea tastes too bitter for me.

green and white checks? That's the image that comes up immediately and i'm in fact, spot on.

This old school western diner has been around since I was a kid and serves up western fare that's stayed the same throughout the years.

Which wouldnt be a bad thing except those at the western diners in the food courts and hawker centres are worthy rivals and they cost a fraction of the price here.

In case it's been too long, Jack's place dining isn't cheap.

I had a creamy chicken pasta.

Look at the generous amounts of chicken!

But unfortunately, the pasta was overboiled which really just defeats the entire point of me eating a pasta dish. Sigh

I have been patronising Jack's Place for a long time. Jack's Place is started by a Chinese from Hainan who learnt how to cook by joining the British Army as a cookboy. Used to visit its first outlet at Sembawang, called Cola Restaurant. Today, it has evolved to include several concept restaurants such as Eatzi Gourmet, Seafood Harvest, Brewbaker's, Hoshigaoka and Jack's Place under the JP Pepperdine Group.Jack's Place currently has 15 restaurants in Singapore and specialises in western cuisine such as steaks. Visited its outlet at Ang Mo Kio on a weekend lunch.Signature white and green checkered table cloth with a quiet ambiance.

I always come to Jack's Place during lunch to savour the Set Lunch which is valid daily from 11am to 230pm. My favourites are both from the Executive Set Lunch; N.Z. Ribeye Steak with Brown Sauce ($16) and N.Z. T-Bone Steak with Brown Sauce ($22.50). The Executive Set Lunch comes along with Garlic Bread, Soup of the Day, Day's Dessert and Coffee / Tea.

I ordered the N.Z. Ribeye Steak with Brown Sauce.

We also ordered the Mushrooms with Slipper Lobster & Crab Meat ($9.50).The Soup of the Day was Broccoli & Leek Soup with Crab Meat! Generous portion of crab meat given. Delicious!Presenting the Mushrooms with Slipper Lobster & Crab Meat ($9.50). Each piece of button mushroom was stuffed with a blend of slipper lobster and crabmeat, topped with cheese before baking. It was baked perfectly with melted cheese on top and at the bottom adding to the flavour. I wish that they were more generous with the slipper lobster and crabmeat. Be careful not to scald yourself as the metal parts are hot! The N.Z. Ribeye Steak with Brown Sauce ($16) arrives on a sizzling hotplate along side with carrots, green beans, onions and baked potato. The brown sauce on top complement the steak well. I love the brown sauce! Customers can request for more brown sauce if required. Anyone knows how I can make the brown sauce?

The baked potato deserves a mention too. It was well baked, not dry not powdery. Topped with Sour Cream Sauce, Bacon bits and Spring Onions, it was yummy!A satisfied meal at Jack's Place. That is why I have been patronising this chain of restaurant all these years. Steak at affordable prices. In addition, service was good. Water was refilled promptly. It was easy to get the attention of the staff.

Jack's Place is a nice place for gathering or dating, the ambience of the cafe is great and comfortable. the whole restaurant are mostly in green, the menu, table cloth, etc etc. the waitress is very friendly and nice. I flipped through the menu and decided to have the beef tenderloin set with baked potato. i love my beef to be medium well, that all i can accept. The baked potato is very nice with the sour cream. the beef is tender and succulent.

Their ambience was ok,not very noisy, Price is abit pricy, Ordered their signature hot plate. The steak is not overcooked ,Taste juicy, Their baked potato is the best, very soft & i like those small red tiny things on top <i don't know the name of that > Is very crunchy,abit salty but very delicious !!

Overall, this restaurant is very neat and the decorations are very romantic. You can bring your date to this restaurant the next time! The service crew there is also very friendly too.

I had lunch at Jack's place today. One of their executive set lunches was the steak and chicken combo and my boyfriend ordered it. It was nit very good. The chicken was too dry and it was overcooked and charred. We felt that Aston's had better tasting chicken. The sirloin steak was better but was a little overcooked as well

The onion ring is not bad,quite crsipy.
And i like the lemon ont it.I like the mashed potato,it is so soft and smooth.
And i also like the mushroom sauce on it.
It is really nice..!
Chicken chop is also not bad.
Tender and flavourful.
But the chicken is abit too oily.
SO i think i will gain fat.

it was our dinner time. my friend and i went to jack's place for dinner

we had the hot plate steak.. their black pepper sauce was hot enough.. bake potato with sour cream and bacon was good and crispy. there was also few boiled vege.. overall not bad experience.. and taste good

The Jack's Place here has been operating for a long time since i was young. I like the design of the restaurant, the green and white stripes that stands out from other restaurants and shops. Even the cake display is appetizing enough to lure one inside to sit down , enjoy a cup of drink to go with the cake. Went here for dinner and i ordered the seafood basket, the basket was quite cute i thought since i only see it in jack's place. Sometimes, other places seafood platter is like eating only the crispy skin and thats all, but the seafood here were not only crispy but also there are real meat underneath the crispy covers. Dip with the sauce it comes with and it was gone in a shortwhile Good to share among friends while having gathering,.

I went to Jack’s Place for dinner with a friend and ordered their chicken spaghetti. The taste of it was quite good as the spaghetti was well cooked, the chicken was well marinated and the sauce taste just right. What’s best is you can enjoy all these goodness in the plate of food for just $10. Yes, the price is cheap. The ambience was pretty good as well, a nice restaurant for a proper meal where you can enjoy a catch up session with friends. Well done.

I pased by AMK jacks place along with my friends a few days ago and i was attracted by the " student meals" which offered choices which includes a main course, drinks and desert for $6.80 theres also an option to top up a soup of a day to your meal for just $1.

I ordered the chicken cutlet as my main course and i was rather pleased with it. The chicken was juicy and tender and with just the right amount of saltines.

I would recommend this place.

Have not been to Jack's Place for a really long time. Decided to lunch there with my family 2 weeks ago. I ordered the steak and requested for it to be medium rare while my mum ordered their bbq chicken. It was good! Just like how it has always been. The steak was tender and soft, and the sauce also helped to bring out the natural sweetness of the steak. The potatoe with bacon and mayo is great too! Love it totally!

This dish is called the mixed grill. It consist of a variety of meat. There's bacon, steak, lamb chop, and chicken. The baked potato is one of the food you must try when you visit this restaurant! The chicken is grilled till so soft and not too oily.The dish is called, fish and chips. The fish is very soft and smooth on the inside, and very crispy on the outside. The salad is also very appetizing and goes well along the fish.This dish is the fried rice. The fried rice consist of many ingredients and with a sunny side up egg on top, to make the whole dish more appetizing.

Overall, this restaurant is very neat and the decorations are very romantic. You can bring your date to this restaurant the next time! The service crew there is also very friendly too.
