The place is located away from the busy part of Little India. The Fish Afghan (11.90) was something new to me. The fish was tender but could have been more flavourful. I could not really tell what the taste was supposed to be, a bit sourish I suppose but not at all distinctive. The Vegetable chop suey (6.90) was a simple dish that was pleasing. A sweet and sour sauce was served with fried noodles, a refreshing combination. continue reading

The nearest MRT station is Farrer Park, and not Little India, as many mistakenly think and which the staff told us wrongly. Jade of India has an extensive menu and the more adventurous diners should venture beyond the usual fish head curry. The fried rice we had was good, with lots of wok hei the fish chilly wine had a tangy taste and not spicy. However, the skin of the chicken momos were too thick and there was too little filling. Not bad overall. continue reading

Heard much from my friend about this restaurant and decided to try one afternoon. After checking out their menu for a very long time, I finally decided on a curry fish head. The curry head cost only $25++ and they serve a whole head, good for 2 people, and unlike cheap zi char stalls who give half head. The manager is also kind enough to make the curry less spicy for us.The fish is fresh enough, and the huge head provides a good amount of meat, and the curry has a really strong indian taste. However, the curry is also incredibly oily; a thick layer of red oil lies over the curry. I'm not particularly health conscience, but I got a little afraid at the oil layer.Maybe I might think of this when I feel like having Indian cuisines, but it won't be frequent though. continue reading

After a hectic shopping day at Mustafa Shopping Center. We headed over to Jade Of India for lunch. The kids wanted to have their favorite Mutton biryani, so we placed an order for Mutton Biryani, Kashmiri Rogan Gosht , Garlic Naan and 3 Mango Lassi's. Our food arrived shortly and we began to indulge in some awesome very food. The Mutton Biryani is cooked and served to perfection and it's so full with mutton in it and nicely spiced and I just love it's aroma. The Kashmiri Rogan Gosht taste simply delicious and it goes really very well with the garlic naan. What I like about the Kashmiri Rogan Gosht is that the mutton is well cooked and is very soft and tender and doesn't stick to the gums and it also has a very good flavor and spice. The Mango Lassi is nice and thick and you can feel a bit of pulp in every sip... yummy. continue reading

I love dining at Jade of India Restaurant, because of it's ambience, the food & the reasonably priced menu. We went to Jade of India on a Sunday evening. We generally go at around 9:30PM when there is less crowd dining there. The place was quite with just 3 other tables occupied. We took our usual corner table. The menu was handed over to us & we browsed through it.We ordered for Chicken Jaane Bahar, which is chicken gravy made with cream, cashew nuts paste & spices, then we ordered for Naan & Kashedar parata. For starters we ordered veg seseme cutlets. The veg cutlets were awesome & went well with chutney. the Chicken gravy was finger licking delicious and went well with the Naans. We enjoyed all that we ordered. We had a great time dining at Jade of India. continue reading
