kaki fuyong!
Smile 2012-03-16
I am back to eating their famous kaki fuyong at makan place once again! I really like it as I like how the eggs goes well with the fried chicken pieces. The chicken pieces were really crispy as well. They also have a pot of soup put at the counter and you can help yourself to it if you wish to have a bowl, but i usually do not take it as i don't really like it.

Salmon-Don
Just OK 2011-11-09
Judging from the queue, I figured this stall might sell some really nice Japanese food. The prices are affordable and the food presentation looks good. I settled for a salmon-don, and it came with a soup. The rice was sticky but not too wet and the salmon was slightly fried with some teriyaki sauce drizzled over it. Overall, I felt that it tasted average because the set was quite plain. The taste did not turn out as promising as it looks and it would be better if there were some beaten eggs mixed inside.

watery
Cries 2011-11-04
and I thought long queues meant that food could be good. what's more, the special was having curry rice available only on specific days. Even though it was their day special, the dish was not so special afterall.

The curry is watery, tasteless, neither sweet nor spicy.
The potato was soft enough.
The chicken was a little tough to chew on.
The rice tasted like typical rice, not the japanese kinds.

The dish only looks good when I decorate it like that, so do not be fooled.
Seriously, what's so good about this stall?

Kaki Fuyong
Cries 2011-10-19
This stall has always seemed to be a hot favourite with long queues and many great reviews on it.
Not having tried Jap cuisine before, I decided to give this a try after hearing from many people that the Kaki Fuyong is good.

However, I was disappointed.
Firstly, the rice was quite soggy and the soup was rather bland.
The chicken, though served in a generous portion, had too much fats and skin on it.
I thought the egg was quite good as it was thick and fluffy although the sauce drizzled on it made the taste a little weird.
I've heard that the standard of the food has dropped a little as well but there're always long queues for it despite that.

Overall, this is definitely not something I would like to try again.
Perhaps I just haven't acquired the taste for Jap cuisine!

wow this is probably the best and most famous stall here in ngee ann polytechnic. there is always a long queue forming here in this stall during lunch time or any other time. it was also one of the stalls featured in campus yummy. their famous food to order would be the kaki fuyong. I love the chicken it is so crispy and their egg complements it very well too. I have eaten this many times but i never get sick of it. MUST TRY. and the price is reasonable too.
