It was a little pricey, but it was worth the money. Had Mushroom Medley, and Ribeye hero shared between my friend, and both dishes were excellent. Heard that their coffee is their signature, and decided to go with The Gibraltarm. Not a fan of coffee, but I do drink at times. It was too bitter for my taste. Probably would try something sweeter the next time I pay them a visit. Minimum of $15 to have one of the low range mains, and a drink. Yes, you may have spent less than $5 at Lau Pa Sat on the opposite side, but the food that i spent on, hasn't let my stomach down. I went to Jewel Coffee for lunch together with my hubby. This place is recommended by my hubby's colleagues. We ordered mains as well as their latte. For my main, I choose the mushroom linguine which has many different mushrooms within the dish to give it its full and earthly flavour. I believe they used button mushrooms, oyster mushrooms and shitakes if I am not wrong. The olive oil and the cheese on top of the linguine also helped to further enhance the taste of the linguine. I really loved it and best of all is that the portion size is just right for me as well. Not forgetting their latte as well which you must definitely order as it is one of the best that I have had. Service is also very good and the people there are all smiles, which made dining there very comfortable. continue reading

Came by here for a coffee after going with my colleagues to SGX for a corporate function. Its my first time here and I think the coffee is not too bad.. double shot espresso is a good idea for me because i love my coffee strong. A good thing is also that even though its strong its not bitter at all..There a small counter selling pastries and food but i wasnt in the mood for food (or mayb the stuff didnt look tantalizing enough) hehe. But i do like the atmosphere though.. can imagine if u go during a time where theres no lunch crowd can be a good place to enjoy the alfresco environment with a nice little book. However, i do find it a bit pricey.. i think was $6 for a cup or smt.. cant really remember.. continue reading

I tried the Flat White and Banana Walnut Muffin here as part of research for a project I was undertaking. The coffee was mildly acidic, but had a very distinctive fruity aftertaste which I quite enjoyed. Priced at slightly over $5, I found it a worthy alternative to a cup of starbucks. The banana walnut muffin cost $2.50 and was a tad overpriced for its size. The muffin was really good and fresh.Taste test: 8/10Overall: A nice cafe to pop by if you're in the area. Great atmosphere with lovely interior decor. continue reading

I came here with friends for breakfast They have pretty good pastas & yummy ribeye sandwich at lunchtime, but we had some of their breakfast fare brioche toast & pancakes.Portions are hearty & they served salted butter with their brioche, so big thumbs up there.Their coffee is excellent. We both had the Brazilian beans which had a slight nutty, chocolatey flavour; it was strong, complex and not bitter.Overall i rate 8/10 continue reading
