About this Restaurant:
The first Ji De Chi concept of creating delicious and comforting dessert was conceived from a humble beginning with three partners. Their passion and quests for great mouth-watering dessert that make perfect ending to a meal brought them north to Hong Kong where they learnt the art of double-boling, consistency check and perfect timing. All these skills were mastered and they brought back with them a wealth of knowledge and experience that culminated into several outlets today serving up hot and cold desserts of great quality.

Cool enough to feel you, sweet enough to melt you.
Smile 6 days ago

After dinner with my boyfriend and his family, we decided to have dessert because I was craving for something sweet. So we head off to our standard place, ji de chi. I would try different things on my every visit.

   Durian

Durian in Pomolo Sago.

My boyfriend order this, and I was like, WHAT?
Personally, I have never never like durian because I feel that, there is a very strong pungent smell and it taste weird. My boyfriend tried to feed me with durian, he will never fail to fail his attempt.

   Hot Beancurd

Hot Beancurd

My boyfriend's mom order this. My boyfriend and I will always get cold beancurd however his mom would prefer hot beancurd and I always fail to find that for her because I know one stall at the east side sell real good beancurd but however is far. His mom really enjoy this beancurd she had at ji de chi and that's her standard order whenever we head to ji de chi.

   Japanese Steam Moo Milk

Japanese Steam Moo Milk

My boyfriend cousin order this and it really taste good. It's cold and thick; you really would be able to taste the thickness of the milk.

   Free gift

I did not try this because everyone on table said it taste awful so I dint want to try too. It's a freebie so dont expect much.

   Chocolate Shaved Ice

Chocolate shave ice.
I shared this with my boyfriend sister. I think it's good enough for 2 pax portion because the serviing is pretty huge.

It's pretty one of the best next to the steam milk. I have tried almost every shave ice they have there. Probably this would rank second because the matcha shaved ice taste really good.

hot hashima is also ordered by my boyfriend. It's one of the best for hot dessert.
It taste sweet and thick.

Food
My return trip in a week to taste a different flavour of the Hong Kong's Dessert Xue Hua Bing.

Was totally turn off by the color of the pile of snow when the staff served to us. What I see on the menu is not what I get. The blueberry snow flake was lavender in color on the menu and what we had was dull pink. There were not much flavour from this and not even any taste of blueberries. It tastes more artificial. Out of so many flavors I had tried, this shouldn't be on menu as the rest are great.

However the chewy ah balling is good and bouncy. Simply love my chews and bites all over it! It went pretty well with the soft silky snow flake.

Comes with sweet cubes of nata de coco and lychee flavour q balls. Love the bursting feeling with the q balls.

Service
Staff are warmed and friendly. Service received is fine, especially when we were in the queue, they offered us menu first.

Ambience
Was given the firs table with the number tag slanted and pointed out of the table. I took a look at the surrounding tables and realised some of the number tagging are not upright too.

In the middle portion of the wooden table, this chinese word is placed there, suggesting it's shop name.

Recommendation / Tips
I will prefer the chendol flavour to this.

Snow Ice
Smile 2013-04-11
Food
This awesome Chendol Snow ice costs $5.50. The cold and creamy desserts also known as shaved snow or xue hua bing had been in trend for quite sometime. The soft pile of snow ice is quite flavourful with coconut taste and having red beans, green jelly and attap seeds as the base which has the ingredients of a bowl of chendol. Sweet sugar syrup was sticky and had cover some portion of the snow. A great way to enjoy one's night over a bowl of cooling dessert at Ji De Chi.

Service
Service are fast and prompt as the turn over rates are high.

Ambience
You can always see that there are queues outside the stall and the workers' working pace are considerably fast in the Ji De Chi. Within one of 2 minutes the customers leave their table, they have the table cleared and clean up. Desserts are served promptly after your order was made.

Price
I believe the pricing is quite competitive and Ji De Chi has its own market positioning and reputation. Somewhere in the building, we have another desserts franchise and was closed down recently. When the franchise is active, there are no crowds outside the shop as compared to Ji De Chi.

Recommendations / Tips
There are number of snow ice flavours. They are all very tasty. I love the green tea flavour as well.

Ji De Chi Desserts
Just OK 2013-03-04

Being a fan of snow ice, I ordered the Mango Strawberry Flavour Snowy Ice. It was rich in mango and strawbery taste, with strawberry slices and mango cubes. It was drizzled woth passionfruit sauce I think, which added extra flavour to the dessert! There were lychee pearls and rice balls too. I loved the lychee balls, which contained lychee flavoured syrup. It just burst in your mouth.

Price a little steep
Cries 2013-02-14

Came here to eat on Vday and realized that the prices were a little steep. Hmmm the desserts are just so so and doesn't really make me feel like going back again. Ordered a bowl of gui ling gao for $2.80 and my friend ordered a bowl of egg with water chestnut and sago (not sure of the name) for $5 plus. Soup was quite diluted and the ambience is not very good wth the tables are closely packed together.

Almond ice shave
Smile 2012-11-07
I love eating desserts after a meal. Ji De Chi serves good quality desserts at a reasonable price. There i usually a queue outside though. So you wont be too full when eating the dessert.

This is their almond ice dessert. It is really good! The taste of the almond ice melting in your mouth is refreshing. The almond taste is strong, good for those who loves almonds. Would highly recommend this dessert on a warm day!

Yummy Durian Dessert
Smile 2012-07-29

We ordered the Snowy Ice Durian Flavour dessert. The ice flake was very fine and smooth and the durian taste was simply heavenly. Look at the generous huge amount of durian paste available on the left side of the bowl. It's simply mouth-watering and delicious. Simply absolutely yummy!!! Not forgetting the other ingredients at the bottom of the ice shavings, eg Pomelo which I do not really like as some of them tasted bitter.

3 of us shared this bowl of durian dessert and all of us love it. However I do not really like the long waiting queue time, which is usually the case for this outlet on a Friday night, Saturday or Sunday. We actually waited close to 25 minutes before we managed to get our seats and throughout, it was at full house capacity.

I do not like the environment as it's too crowded and cramped in space when it's full house. However I like the olden days antique feel of the shop design. Overall the shop was quite clean.

Service was average, as we had to literally wave to get their attention to take our orders and they do not smile or greet us when they take our orders.

This bowl cost about $6+ and it's highly recommended for you to give it a try when you are craving for some desserts while you are at Jurong Point. smile

Mango Ice
Smile 2012-07-25 (Related Review)

This Mango Ice is very nice. The ice itself is rich in the mango taste. The portion of this dish is very big too, it can be shared among friends after dinner as an dessert. There are mango pieces at the side which are very very sweet! lol However, the round transparent small balls beside it (I have no idea what is it called) is not too nice. The taste is too overwhelming when the juice burst out in my mouth. A must-try dish if you love to eat mangotongue The service is average and there is a little waiting time.

Banana Ice
Smile 2012-07-25

This banana ice is very delicious. The ice itself is bursting with rich flavor of banana, and the ice is of top quality. Not the kind of ice you get at coffee shops. Its texture is similar to that of an ice-cream. At the side, there are real banana slices which are fresh. There are also Nata de coco too. The sides compliments the ice very well. The peanut pieces simply goes very well with the ice, it's a divine combination. The service is average and there's a little waiting time.

Awesome dessert ever! This is so called the durian deluxe because it has the durian puree, durian paste, durian ice cream, and Pamela with sago toppings! The ice cream has rich durian taste but is very nice because it not only sweet but also has a tinge of bitterness. The purée also very fresh, and the paste is like blending the purée to become paste, so very rich and thick wi durian taste. Woe very love durian should try this!

mango iced
Smile 2012-04-29
It has been sometime since I had ji de chi dessert so I grabbed the chance after lunch to go there for our dessert after our dinner at Kopitham. I ordered the mango shaved ice which comes drizzled with mango syrup and also served with fresh mango, nata de coco and some big mango sagos. The mangoes are very sweet and juicy. As for the shaved ice, it is also very nice and melts in your mouth. For the taste, it is milky and has mango flavour and it is also not too sweet. The overall dessert is very balanced and it is a great dessert for sharing.

Awesome durian!
Smile 2012-04-11
We were back to Ji De Chi again for more durian desserts, this time at the Jurong Point outlet. This outlet is fairly small and packed, but the service is superb! The staffs will take the order when the customers are queuing for the seats. By the time the customers are seated, the food is served in a blink. Efficient!

We ordered two durian desserts. Durian with pomelo sago ($6) is definitely a must try! The durian paste and pulps are so rich in flavour, the aromatic fragrant matches so well with the pomelo. Served in cold, this dessert is simply too awesome to miss.

Durian baked puff rolls ($8.5) has a gorgeous looking. The durian paste is wrapped in a thin pastry sheet, and deep-fried till very crispy. Dusting with icing sugar, this dessert has it all, the look, the texture, and the taste! Thumbs up!

The service is average since a little waiting time is needed. The environment is good for chilling.
