This is one of my favourite venue to have steamboat buffet. The place is very spacious and the environment is very cooling as well. The favourite section for me will be the vegetable section as they always top up the items regularly and also the vegetables available in their buffet are all very fresh and crunchy. More people like me who is very lazy to prepare vegetable to eat, here is really simple and convenient to have it. The price is also consider quite reasonable as compared with other places' steamboat buffet.

Was actually having the intention to have a great chit chat sessions and a simple steamboat dinner at Joaquim, and was really surprise to find out that the different types of sliced cakes served here are very delicious too. Especially love to eat their blueberry cheese cake and brownies. The cheese used is very fragrant and really thick in texture. The blueberry topping is also very sweet and juicy too. Those who love to eat dark chocolate will love their brownies, it is bitter and not too sweet.

Stopped by to check Joaquim out with a friend and we decided to drop in for lunch since the buffet prices were reasonable and the spread seemed really good.

The restaurant is located at the ground floor of the convention centre in Suntec City. It basically an open area, which can make it quite uncomfortable at times when people walk by and look at you eat.

The service there is also much to be desired. The staff aren''t very friendly and they seem unwilling to serve. Well then again, at that price, what more can I expect?

Food wise, the spread is good and quite typical of teochew porridge, with the usual dishes, and generally quite well-prepared.

After our recent trip to Joaquim, we were given a voucher to come back for a 1 for 1 buffet. As I really love the crispy skin roast pork, my first stop was to march to the counter but they were not serving it. Quite a pity actually. But I had some other nice food too. First on our table is their version of mee soto. It's a buffet so do not expect a big bowl. This tiny bowl is yummy especially the soup. I drank up the entire bowl. It wasn't very oily unlike those you see in hawker centre where there's one inch of oil on top of the soup. The noodles blends in very well with the soup base and you can't even feel the starchy taste that normally comes with fat yellow noodles.Didn't get to mix my own rojak. It was done by one of the chefs at the counter. The sweetness is just right. Peanut was also sparingly added.Again poh piah was soggy coz we left it on the table for too long before consuming it. That's the problem with bringing too many items onto the table. Should have ordered this only when we want to eat. But the fillings is good. Didn't taste too salty or sweet. I can say that it is just right for my taste bud. Would have been less cold if we didn't leave it there for so long.We still like the chilli crab sauce. They will cook the seafood for you (except fish) and you get to choose the sauce. This time we had mussels, prawns and crabs.We order two soup base. My partner had the tom yam and I had the chicken. As they are not using the normal stove, we can't adjust the temperature. So if there's not enough good in there, you will see your soup boiling. To get around it, I'll normally stuff lots of veges. I love veges so I tend to eat everything I stuff in the little pot.Tried abit of the chicken rice coz the soup was too filling. Wasn't exactly the chicken taste you get at hawker centre. The taste was too blend. The chicken meat was tender though...so it made up for the lack of taste in the rice.First dessert was the burbur hitam. I found it too sticky. Looks more like sticky glue than a dessert. But I ate it anyway. Didn't think it was any special.Left the cakes to the last bit. Logan almond jelly was ok. Mango pudding wasn't too spectacular that I would want to brag about. The carrot cake wasn't too amazing either. The cream on top was tasteless. Would be good if it can be slightly sweeter abit. But then again, it's a personal taste. The tiramisu was the only dessert I can say it's nice

We ordered coke 3 times before the service crew decides to serve it to us. That can definitely be improved.

Last sunday, the whole family went for a buffet at Joaquim. This restaurant is at Suntec City, so you definitely will not miss it. The steamboat concept is quite nice in that each of us had our own individual pot to cook our food instead of the usual big steamboat where everyone shares. I choose the tom yum soup base which is just ok in my opinion as I had better ones before. Also, the steamboat is really normal and not value for money since the ingredients are very common and normal steamboat ingredients. As for the more expensive meats like beef, it took quite long for them to refill it, so I didn't get to eat a lot of it. In addition to the steamboat, there are also desserts and a cooked food section, but nothing really stands out. Overall, given this price paid, I will definitely go elsewhere for buffet.

If you happen to visit here to have your steamboat buffet, do not forget to check it out on their Chinese Rojak as well. There will be a counter set up for this an a chef will be there to prepare for you only upon your order. Love the you tiao as is really crispy and fragrant. Also enjoyed the different types of vegetables and fruits in it which includes sliced mangoes, cucumbers, kang kong, beansprouts, pineapple, lemon glass and white carrot. The peanut used to top on the rojak is quite big and crunchy too. Love the dark thick gravy as it is rich in flavour and with slightly sour taste in it. Yummy!

We were attracted by the fragrance of herbal soup as we approached.
The place was quite fully seated; there were stalls which resemble those street hawkers where you got to queue and order local dishes from the chef e.g. Rojak, Popiah, Otah, Braised Duck/Chicken etc. There's a cooked seafood section where you select the raw seafood (crabs/mussels/prawns) from the raw section and give it to the chef to cook. I find the taste rather weird, the sauce was kind of bitter and burnt taste, not nice at all
The rest of the sections are normal steamboat ingredients, which I don’t think they are fantastic. It is like normal buffet stall. Sad!

after shopping at suntec we decided to eat something hot and filling . so we try joaquim buffet restaurant suntec city, each of us got a steamboat pot and soup we can either clear or tom yam soup)

they have different kind of foods ranging from raw meats , popiah , rojak , cooked foods etc kung pow chicken , fried vegetable, fried fish , chicken meat , laksa , lor mee , pasta , desserts etc. As for the crabs you can bring to the chef and ask to cook for you . The sauces are also many choicesthe seafood there are fresh and stock up very fast and the servers are faster in clearing plates .
the desserts range from cakes , kueh , ice kachang , ice cream , fruits

But the only bad thing is that they serve plain water so if u want to drink soft or hot drinks u need to pay .

At Joaquim, each guest was served with a personal steamboat (they called it a pot) containing the soup of your choice. Although I frowned that only two choices of soup (tom-yam or herbal chicken soup) are available, I like their idea of having individual pot. In this way, you need not worried about those who were suffering from a cold, or are avoiding seafood or beef. There were hits and misses at the Steamboat Buffet offered by Joaquim. For the reasonable price, services and ambience, this is still a recommended dinning hangout with your friends.

Came here for dinner many years back and thought of visiting this place again. I love how we get to have our own personal hotpot! At times, sharing could be fun but there are just times where you just wish you have your own pot and doesn't need to eat whatever your friends have thrown in. Although there wasn't alot of selection, I thought it was good enough. The roast pork is one of my favorites for the night. Love how crispy the skin is. Some roast pork are so salty that you place one in your mouth and won't want a second piece. This one doesn't.The laksa gravy taste good. Not the best but I thought for a buffet standard, it's one of the better ones that I have tasted. The poh piah is abit soggy. Think we left it there for too long before consuming. If you don't feel like dumping your seafood into the mini pot, you have opt to have the chef cook for you. We chose chili sauce and it tasted yummy. Only thing to note is that they don't cook fish. So you will still need to cook them in your mini pot.Service was great because they clear your plates very fast.

It was good value for money. No drinks included though (only plain water). However, drinks can be purchase separately at nett price.

I went on a weekend, hence it cost around $12.90, on weekdays, it's only $9.90! And it's ALL YOU CAN EAT! Though it says porridge buffet (i thought you can only eat many bowls of porridge), you can actually get other food as well! Like omelette's egg (love it), braised duck (BEST), chicken, veges, desserts and more!

There’s a wide variety of local porridge accompaniments, and you could even have a hard time choosing what to get as there’s just too many choices! It was really filling, I wasnt hungry for that entire day after the buffet. Such a healthy buffet, will be back to try other dishes too. They have a couple of porridge for you to choose as well, plain, fish, pumpkin and some others which I don't remember.

Tried their porridge buffet and loved it.
So here I am to try their steamboat buffet!

Weekday dinner price: $25.80 nett
Weekend dinner price: $26.80 nett

With great service and fresh food
Two types of soup base: herbal chicken and Tom yum (comes in personal pot)

The personal pot buffet idea is good for people who might be having some flu and cough and do not like to share their soup, or you could order the same soup but adjust to your personal liking such as adding more chilli for people who love really spicy food like me!

Although the variety of food is limited but their seafood are really fresh
They have simple yong tau foo ingredients, vegetables, meat, and seafood.

They also have station for you to have your seafood cooked in tomato sauce It tastes great!
They also have pasta, chicken rice, plain rice and we tried their chicken rice, it was really fragrant

They also have stations for cooked food - Rojak, Laksa, Popiah, and Roasted Meat (Chicken and sausages)
At these station, you could have your food at your request, like what are the ingredients you want more, or you do not want to have. I love their rojak and popiah! If only my stomach allows more!
It's a great place to bring your friend who just came to Singapore

Lastly, there's a dessert section. Though I do not really like their pudding and cakes, but their ice cream and fruits were nice

A place worth the price fresh food, nice soup, great cooked dishes!
